Pwy ŵyr na chaf trwy ddarllen

(Bendith yn y moddion)
Pwy ŵyr na chaf trwy ddarllen,
    oleuo mhen i mhwyll,
Ac etifeddu sylwedd,
    o'r diwedd yn ddi dwyll;
  Am hyny at fy Mibl,
      yn syml mi nesaf,
  Ymroi i'w ddyfal chwilio,
      a darllen yno wnaf.

Gall enaid gyd â'r Bibl
    yn syml gael llesad,
Trwy ddarllen a'i fyfyrio,
    a'i chwilo am iachâd;
  Am hyny minnau hefyd,
      yn ddiwyd ac yn ddwys,
  A chwiliaf yn fwy syml
      y Bibl mawr ei bwys.

Pwy ŵyr, wrth wrando pregeth,
    na ddaw rhyw beth o Dduw,
Trwy wrando, yn fwy amlwg,
    un mawr i'r golwg yw:
  Gwnaed satan im' ei waetha,
      yn wir i'r odfa 'r âf,
  A disgwyl ffydd, wrth wrando
      gair Duw yn effro, wnaf.

(Blessing in the means)
Who knows whether I may get through reading,
    light to end my darkness,
And to inherit substance,
    at the end unmistakenly;
  Therefore to my Bible,
      simply I shall draw near,
  To devote myself diligently to search,
      and read there I shall.

A soul may with the Bible
    simply get relief,
Through reading and studying it,
    and searching it for salvation;
  Therefore I also,
      diligently and intently,
  And I shall search more simply
      the Bible of great import.

Who knows, through hearing preaching,
    whether something of God will come,
Through hearing, more obviously,
    something great to view is:
  Let Satan do his worst,
      truly to the service I shall go,
  And expect faith, through hearing
      the word of God alertly, I shall.
