Pwy yw Hwn mor wan ac eiddil?

Pwy yw Hwn mor wan ac eiddi
  Plentyn morwyn dlawd ei byd
A gysgodwyd mewn ystabl,
  Gafodd breseb oer yn grud?
Arglwydd Iôr y greadigaeth
  Yn rhodfeydd yr anial yw;
Mae yn Dduw o dragwyddoldeb,
  A pharha'n dragwyddol Dduw.

Pwy yw Hwn, - y Gŵr gofidus,
  Trist Ei enaid wrtho'i Hun,
Llesg, heb gartref, ac yn wylo
  Dros bechodau aflan ddyn?
Fe yw'n Duw a'n Ceidwad grasol,
  Uwch y sêr mewn gwlad ddiglwy
Sy'n par'toi yn awr drigfannau
  Lle ni chollir deigryn mwy.

Pwy yw Hwn, - a'i chwys yn disgyn
  Yn ddefnynnau gwaed i lawr?
Pwy yw Hwn sy'n wrthodedig
  O dan wawd a dirmyg mawr?
Fe yw'n Duw, yr Hwn sy'n tywallt
  Gras a hedd i'r saint is-law;
A brenhinol deyrnwialen
  Buddugoliaeth yn Ei law.

Pwy yw Hwn yng nghrog sy'n marw
  Dan sarhad y byd a'i gur,
Ac a deimla 'mhlith troseddwyr
  Goron ddrain a hoelion dur?
Fe yw'n Duw sy'n byw'n dragywydd
  Gyda'i ddisglair dorf ddi-lyth,
Yn y ddinas aur ddi-gwmwl
  Yn teyrnasu'n Frenin byth.
Evan Rees (Dyfed) 1850-1923

[Mesur: 8787D]

Who is He so weak and feeble
  A child of virgin of a poor world
Who was sheltered in a stable,
  Who got a cold manger as a cradle?
The Sovereign Lord of the creation
  In the avenues of the desert he is;
He is God from eternity,
  And shall endure as eternal God.

Who is He, - the grieved Man,
  Sad His soul by Himself,
Faint, without home, and weeping
  For the unclean sins of man?
He is our God and our gracious Saviour,
  Above the stars in a land without sickness
Who is preparing now dwellings
  Where tears are nevermore to be shed.

Who is This, - with his sweat falling
  As drops of blood to the ground?
Who is He, who is rejected
  Under the great mocking and scorn?
He is God, He who is pouring
  Grace and peace on the saints below;
With a royal sceptre
  Of victory in His hand.

Who is He on a gibbet dying
  Under the insult of the world and its blow,
And who feels amongst the transgressors
  A crown of thorns and steel nails?
He is God who is living in eternity
  With his shining, unfailing throng,
In the golden, cloudless city
  Reigning as King forever.
