Rhyfeddod rhyfeddod i Brynwr y byd

1,2,(3,(4));  1,3.
(Am ddyoddefaint Iesu)
Rhyfeddod, rhyfeddod,
    i Brynwr y byd
Roi ei enaid yn aberth
    yn daliad mor ddrud,
  I godi pechadur
      o ddyfnder ei wae,
  A'i ddwyn i ogoniant
      byth byth i barâu!

O bellder trag'wyddol
    y gwelodd Efe,
Nad oedd gynnorthwywr
    i ddyn is y Ne';
  Addawodd ei einioes,
      fe'i rhoddodd i lawr,
  I gadw pechadur;
      ei gariad oedd fawr.

Ei ras a'i cymhellodd
    yn wyneb y groes,
Ei fraich a'i hachubodd
    yn nyfnder ei loes:
  Cadd lawn fuddugoliaeth
      ar Galfari fryn,
  Mewn gwendid gorchfygodd;
      ni ganwn am hyn.

Y Gyfraith oedd fanwl
    a pherffaith a llym;
Cyfiawnder gofynol
    anfeidrol ei rym;
  A'r gwaelaf bechadur
      truenus ei lun:
  Mae digon yn Iesu
      i'r rhai'n bob yr un.

(About the suffering of Jesus)
A wonder, a wonder,
    that the Redeemer of the world
Should give his soul as a sacrifice
    as a payment so costly,
  To raise a sinner
      from the depth of his woe,
  And lead him to glory
      forever and ever to continue!

From the eternal distance
    He saw,
That there was no helper
    for man under Heaven;
  He pledged his life,
      he laid it down,
  To save a sinner;
      his love was great.

His grace compelled him
    in the face of the cross,
His arm saved him
    in the depth of his anguish:
  He got a full victory
      on Calvary hill,
  In weakness he overcame;
      let us sing about this.

The law was detailed
    and perfect and sharp;
Righteousness demanding
    immeasurable its force
  And the worst sinner
      miserable his condition:
  Jesus is sufficient
      for those, every one.
