Rhyfeddol a dirgelaidd yw

(Y Drindod yn ogoneddus)
Rhyfeddol a dirgelaidd yw
Gweithredoedd a Rhagluniaeth Duw,
  Pa sant, neu seraph, yn y nef,
  A gynnwys fyth ei hanfod Ef!

Nid yw'r tri pherson yn dri Duw,
Un hanfod anfesurol yw;
  Y ddwyfol natur sydd o hyd,
  Yn perthyn i'r personau i gyd.

Pob priodoledd sydd yn Nuw,
Pob enw, ac addoliad gwiw,
  Berthynant oll yn ddiwahan,
  I'r Tad, a'r Mab,
      a'r Ysbryd Glān.

Derbyniwn y gwirionedd mawr,
Na's gallwn ei amgyffred 'n awr;
  A moled pawb sy'n meddu chwyth
  Y Drindod bur anfeidrol byth.
Benjamin Francis 1734-99

(The Trinity as glorious)
Wonderful and mysterious are
The Deeds and Providence of God,
  What saint, or seraph, in heaven,
  Will every contain His essence!

The three persons are not in three Gods,
One infinite essence he is;
  The divine nature is always
  Belonging to all the persons.

Every attribute which is in God,
Every name, and worthy worship,
  They all belong undivided,
  To the Father, and the Son,
      and the Holy Spirit.

Let us accept the great truth,
Which we cannot grasp now;
  And let everyone who has breath praise
  The pure, infinite Trinity forever.
tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion
