Tramwywn ar gyflym adenydd Myfyrdod i Fethlem yn awr, I weled ffynhonnell llawenydd Angylion a lluoedd y llawr. Os canu yn fwyn ac ardderchog Wnâi engyl wrth weled eu Duw, Ai ni roddwn ninnau fawl serchog I'r Iesu? Ein Prynwr ni yw! Cans er ein mwyn ni ei wael ddynion Gadawodd bob mawredd a bri, Ac er ein mwyn ni ei elynion Y daeth ef i lawr i'n byd ni. Ac er ein mwyn ni mewn gwael feudy Y ganwyd e'n faban tylawd, Ac O, er ein mwyn y bu'n gwaedu Ar groesbren mewn dirmyg a gwawd. Er gwared rhyw adyn colledig A llwyr felltigedig fel fi, Y gwelwyd yr Iesu'n hoeliedig A'i waed ef yn rhedeg yn lli. O, rhyfedd oedd gweled Creawdwr A Llywiwr y bydoedd i gyd Yn dyfod i fod yn Iachawdwr I brynu pechadur mor ddrud. O, gwyliwn rhag bod yn golledig Ar ôl y fath gymod a gaed, Ar ôl i'n Creawdwr caredig Ein caru a'n prynu â'i waed; Os daliwn i wrthod galwadau Yr Iesu tra'n galw y mae, Ni wna ei holl ddrud ddioddefiannau Ond echrys 'chwanegu ei wae. Pwy bynnag a ffy am dderbyniad At Iesu, ein Pabell wir gref, Gan roddi iawn serchog ymlyniad Wrth ei orchymynion pur ef, Ei sylfaen bob awr fydd safadwy, Ni chryn ei adeilad un dydd, Er rhuo holl stormydd ofnadwy Y fagddu – diogel a fydd.Richard Foulkes Edwards (Rhisiart Ddu o Wynedd) 1836-70 [Mesur: 9898] |
Let us travel on the swift wings Of meditation to Bethlehem now, To see the found of the joy of Angels and the host of earth below. If singing pleasantly and wonderfully Were the angels on seeing their God, Shall we not give ardent praise To Jesus? Our Redeemer he is! Since for our sake, his poor men, He left all majesty and honour, And for our sake, his enemies, He came down to our world. And for our sake in a poor cowshed He was born as a poor baby, And O, for our sake he bled On the wooden cross in scorn and mockery. To deliver some scoundrel, lost And completely condemned like me, Jesus was seen, nailed, With his blood running as a stream. O, wonderful it was to see the Creator And Governor of all the worlds Coming to be a Saviour To redeem a sinner so expensively. O, let us watch lest we be lost After such a covenant was got, After our loving Creator Loved us and redeemed us with his blood. If we keep refusing the callings Of Jesus, while calling us he is, All his costly sufferings will only Dreadfully increase his woe. Whoever shall flee for acceptance To Jesus, our true, strong tabernacle, Giving real ardent commitment To his pure commandments, His foundation shall be unshakable hourly, His building shall not tremble any day, Despite the roaring of all terrible storms Of hell - safe he shall be.tr. 2023 Richard B Gillion |
