Tu faes i furiau dinas bell Mae bryn o uchel fri, Lle y croeshoeliwyd Iesu mwyn, Fu farw i'n cadw ni. Ni allwn ddweud - ni wyddom ddim Faint oedd ei boenau trist; Ond credwn hyn, mai drosom ni Y dïoddefodd Crist. Bu farw i gael maddeuant llawn I'r gwaethaf rai a gaed; Bu farw i'w dwyn i'r nefoedd wen, Trwy rin ei werthfawr Waed. Ni allai arall dalu pris Pechodau mor ddi-ri'; Efe yn unig allai wneud Y nef yn rhydd i ni. Mor annwyl carodd Ef nyni! Caiff Yntau'n serch i gyd; Ac ymddiriedwn yn ei Waed, Gan wneud ei waith o hyd. - - - - - Tu hwnt i furiau dinas bell Mae Bryn o uchel fri, Lle y croeshoeliwyd Iesu mwyn, Fu farw i'n cadw ni. Beyond the walls of a distant city Is a hill of high renown, Where gentle Jesus was crucified, Who died to save us. We cannot tell - we do not know at all How great were his sad pains; But we believe this, that for us Christ suffered. He died to get full forgiveness For the worst ones there are; He died to bring them to bright heaven, Through the merit of his precious blood. No other could pay the price Of sins so innumerable; He alone could make heaven Accessible to us. How dearly he loved us! He shall get all our affection too; And we shall trust in his blood, While doing his work always. - - - - - Beyond the walls of a distant city Is a hill of high renown, Where gentle Jesus was crucified, Who died to save us. There is a green hill far away, Outside a city wall, Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all. We may not know, we cannot tell, What pains He had to bear; But we believe it was for us He hung and suffered there. He died that we might be forgiv’n, He died to make us good, That we might go at last to Heav’n, Saved by His precious blood. There was no other good enough To pay the price of sin; He only could unlock the gate Of heaven and let us in. O dearly, dearly has He loved, And we must love Him, too, And trust in His redeeming blood, And try His works to do. - - - - - There is a green hill far away, Outside a city wall, Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all.
