Tra mae teyrnasoedd dig y byd
I ryfel brwd yn brysio 'nghyd,
  Y Duw deyrnasa yn y nen
  Ei ddiben da a ddwg i ben.

Mewn cyflym feirch ymddiried rhai,
Ac eraill mewn cerbydau chwai;
  Ond yn dy enw, Arglwydd Iôr,
  Mae'n gobaith ni ar dir a môr.

Y Duw goruwch y duwiau sydd,
Ein tarian fu'r peryglus ddydd;
  Duw mawr y rhyfel drosom rhodd
  Ei faner mewn buddugol fodd,

Duw mawr y rhyfe wyt, ein Rhi,
Ti'r fuddugoliaeth roist i ni;
  It i y canwn glodydd glân,
  Gan adde'th law mewn llafar gân.

O Arglwydd Dduw, i'r hwn bob dydd
Y nef a'r dda'r yn ufudd sydd;
  Ein mawl a'n gweddi derbyn di,
  A rho'th ymgeledd byth i ni.

While the angry kingdoms of the world are
To fervent war rushing together,
  God reigns in heaven
  His good purpose he will bring about.

In fast horses some trust,
And others in swift chariots;
  But in thy name, Sovereign Lord,
  Is our hope on land and sea.

God who is above the gods is,
Was our shield in the perilous day;
  The great God of the war over us set
  His banner in a victorious way,

Great God of the war thou art, our Commander,
Thou the victory thou gavest to us;
  To thee we shall sing holy praises,
  While professing thy hand in a loud song.

O Lord God, to him every day
Heaven and the earth obedient are;
  Our praise and our prayer receive thou,
  And give thy support forever to us.

6 Our hopes are fixed, that now the Lord
    our sov'reign will defend;
  From heav'n resistless aid afford,
    and to his prayer attend.



7 Some trust in steeds for war designed,
    on chariots some rely;
  against them all we'll call to mind
    the pow'r of God most high.


8 But, from their steeds and chariots thrown,
    behold them through the plain,
  Disordered, broke, and trampled down,
    whilst firm our troops remain.



9 Still save us, Lord, and still proceed
    our rightful cause to bless;
  Hear, King of Heav'n, in times of need,
    the pray'rs that we address.
