Tyr'd Ysbryd/Yspryd Glān o'r nef i lawr

(Y Dyddanydd)
Tyr'd Yspryd Glān o'r nef i lawr,
Diddanydd pūr, tyr'd yma 'nawr,
  I'n gwael mynwesau ni:
Gad i ni brofi'th nefol ddawn,
'R addewid doed i ben yn llawn,
  Diddanwch Israel cu.

Cyflawna addewid mawr y Tād,
Tyr'd Iesu yn dy gariad rhād,
  I'n lloni a nefol wīn;
O gwel ni mewn galarus wedd,
A doed i lawr dy sanctaidd hedd,
  Cysura'r enaid blin.

Tywallta arnom Yspryd Gras
A llwyr marweiddia'n llygredd cās,
  Trwy rinwedd d'aberth gwiw;
A dwg ni mewn i rydd-did gwir,
I'th foli a chalon gywir būr,
  Tra f'om yn nhir y byw.
Tywallta :: O! disgyn

Tōn [886D]: Freyburg (<1876)

(The Comforter)
Come Holy Spirit down from heaven,
Pure Comforter, come here now,
  To our poor breasts:
Let us experience thy heavenly gift,
Let the promise be fulfilled now,
  The comfort of dear Israel.

Fulfil the great promise of the Father,
Come Jesus in thy free love,
  To cheer us with heavenly wine;
O see us in a mournful condition,
And may thy sacred peace come down,
  Comfort the weary soul.

Pour upon us the Spirit of Grace
And wholly mortify our hated corruption,
  Through thy worthy sacrifice's merit;
And draw us into true freedom,
To praise thee with a truly pure heart,
  While we are in the land of the living.
Pour :: O descend

Come Holy Spirit, down from heaven; Pure Comforter, O come now, To our poor breasts: Let us experience thy heavenly gift, Let the promise come to pass fully: A true Comforter art thou. Fulfil the great promise of the Father, O come in thy free love, Grant a taste of thy heavenly virtue: O see us in a mournful condition Waiting for thy delightful peace: Comfort the weary soul. Pour upon us a Spirit of grace, To completely mortify our hated corruption, Through his worthy activities; And draw us into true freedom, To praise thee with a pure heart, While we are in the land of the living.
