Uwchlaw terfysgoedd mawr y byd

(Duw sy'n Teyrnasu)
Uwchlaw terfysgoedd mawr y byd,
  Ac uchel fryd teyrnasoedd,
Llywiawdur pob creadur byw
  Yw Arglwydd Dduw y lluoedd.

Ei deyrnwialen sydd yn awr
  Ar frig y mawr lifeiriant;
A gwelir ar y chwerwaf don
  Dywynion Ei ogoniant.

Pan fo tywyllwch yn dyfnhau,
  A gorseddfeinciau'n crynu,
Daw eto o'r cyfyngder lwydd,
  Yr Arglwydd sy'n teyrnsu.

Fe drŷ gynddaredd calon dyn
  Yn delyn i'w foliannu;
A syrth coronau yn Ei ŵydd,
  Yr Arglwydd sy'n teyrnasu.

Mae addewidion o fy mhlaid,
  O! f'enaid, ymdawela;
Yr Hwn a ferchyg donnau'r môr
  All agor dôr dihangfa.

Diflodded haul yr wybren lâs, -
  Diflanned gras ei esgyll,
A chilied bryniau tua'r môr,
  Mae gorsedd Iôr yn sefyll.
Evan Rees (Dyfed) 1850-1923

[Mesur: 8787]

(God who Reigns)
Above the great tumults of the world,
  And the high mind of the kingdoms,
The governor of every living creature
  Is the Lord God of the hosts.

His sceptre is now
  Over the top of the great flood;
And to be seen on the bitterest wave are
  The shinings of His glory.

When the darkness deepens,
  And thrones tremble,
There shall yet come from the grey distress,
  The Lord who is reigning.

He shall turn the fury of the heart of man
  Into a harp to praise him;
An crowns shall fall in his presence,
  The Lord who is reigning.

There are promises for me,
  O my soul, quieten thyself!
The One who rides the waves of the sea
  Can open a door of escape.

Let sun of the blue sky be extinguished, -
  Let the grace of his wings disappear,
And let the hills retreat towards the sea,
  The throne of the Lord is standing.
tr. 2014 Richard B Gillion
