Wrth draed yr Athraw mawr

  Wrth draed yr Athraw mawr,
    Fel Ei ddisgyblion Ef,
  Ymroddwn yma'n awr
    I ddysgu geiriau'r nef:
Mae'n rhoi yr addysg oreu 'rioed
Yn addfwyn i bob gradd ac oed.

  Mae'i eiriau Ef yn llawn
    O fywyd ac o hedd;
  Ac o'u myfyrio cawn
    I'n henaid hyfryd wledd:
Mae derbyn dysg
      yr Athraw mawr
Yn rhan o'r nef i ni yn awr.
W Evans Jones (Penllyn) 1854–1938

Tôn [666688]: Raleigh (Ebenezer Prout 1835-1909)

  At the feet of the great Teacher,
    Like His disciples,
  We devote ourselves now
    To learn the words of heaven:
He gives the best ever teaching
Gently to every degree and age.

  His words are full
    Of life and of peace;
  And from their meditation we may get
    For our souls a delightful feast:
Receiving the teaching of
      the great Teacher is
A portion of heaven to us now.
