Wrth lunio duwiau cerfir coed

Hunan-ymddibyniaeth Duw - Esay xliii a xliv - Rhan II
Wrth lunio duwiau cerfir coed,
  Gwnant law a throed er harddwch,
Ond wedi'r cyfan nid ynt dda,
  Er attal plā neu dristwch.

Dim yw'r eilun gwedi'r gwaith,
  Ni ddeall iaith nac ystum;
Caiff gau-addolwyr wel'd yn glir
  Nid yw e'n wir on dirym.

Aed yr efengl anwyl fwyn
  Ag sydd yn dwyn newyddion
Am Iesu Grist y Ceidwad byw,
  Sy'n uno Duw a dynion.
Crynhodeb o Hymnau Cristnogol (Daniel Jones) 1845

(The Self-dependency of God - Isaiah 43 & 44 - Part 2)
While designing gods to be carved of wood,
  They make hand and foot for beauty,
But after all they are no good,
  For stopping plague or sadness.

Nothing is the idol after the work,
  Neither understanding language nor gesture;
The false-worshipper gets to see clearly
  It is truly nothing but impotent.

Let the beloved, dear gospel go
  Which is bearing news
About Jesus Christ the living Saviour,
  Who is uniting God and men.
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
