Yn Eden ardd mae'n wir

(Adda a Christ)
Yn Eden ardd mae'n wir,
Fe gofir hyny'n wir,
  Fe gwympwyd lawr;
Ond Adda'r ail a ddaeth,
Ein codi'n uwch a wnaeth,
Fe'n gweler ni oedd gaeth
  Mewn rhyddid mawr.

Os camwedd ddaeth i'r byd,
Trwy'r Adda cynta' gyd,
  Er chwer'der chwith,
Gwir Adda'r ail o'r nef
A'i llwyr orchfygodd ef;
O, f'enaid, cwyd dy lef,
  Molianna fyth.

O, f'enaid, deffro'th gān
O ddedwydd glodydd glān,
  Mawr yw dy fraint;
Trugaredd fawr ei dawn,
Gwir etifeddiaeth lawn,
Cymdeithion hyfryd iawn,
  Duw'r nef a'ķ saint.

(Adam and Christ)
In the garden of Eden it is true,
This is to be long remembered,
  He fell down;
But the second Adam came,
Raise us higher he di,
We are to be seen who were captive
  In great freedom.

If transgression came to the world,
All through the first Adam,
  Despite awkward bitterness,
The true second Adam from heaven
Completely overcame it;
O my soul, raise thy cry,
  Praise forever.

O my soul, awaken thy song
Of happy, holy praises,
  Great is thy privilege;
The great gift of mercy,
A true, full inheritance,
Very delightful companions,
  The God of heaven and his saints.
