Yn mreichiau fy Ngwaredwr

(Safe in the arms of Jesus)

(Odditanodd mae y breichiau tragywyddol
Deut. xxx.27.)
Yn mreichiau fy Ngwaredwr,
  'Rwy'n ddiogel yn mhob man;
Dan gysgod cariad Iesu,
  Gorphwysa'm henaid gwan;
Clyw, f'enaid lais angylion -
  Per odlau nefol flas -
Dyr ar fy nghlust o'r nefoedd,
  Dros donau moroedd gras.

    Yn mreichiau fy Ngwaredwr,
      'Rwy'n ddiogel yn mhob man;
    Dan gysgod cariad Iesu,
      Gorphwysa'm henaid gwan.

'Rwy'n ddiogel yn ei freichiau
  Rhag nerth gofalon dwys,
Rhag gwenwyn temtasiynau,
  Rhag pechod yn ei bwys;
O gyrhaedd marwol ofid,
  Amheuon oer a braw;
Caf wylo yn nyfryn galar,
  Ond canaf ddydd a ddaw.

Iesu yw'm Noddfa gadarn -
  Bu farw un prydnawn;
Byth, byth ar Graig yr oesoedd
  Bydd fy ymddiried llawn:
Gorphwysaf yma'n dawel,
  Cyn hir caf wel'd y wawr;
Disgwyliaf doriad boreu
  Dydd tradwyddoldeb mawr.

Tôn [7676D]: Safe in the Arms of Jesus
    (W H Doane 1832-1915)

(Underneath are the everlasting arms
Deut. 30:27)
In the arms of my Deliverer,
  I am safe in every place;
Under the shadow of the love of Jesus,
  Shall rest my weak soul;
Hear, my soul the angels' voice -
  Sweet verses of heavenly taste -
Come on my ear from heaven,
  Over the waves of the seas of grace.

    In the arms of my Deliverer,
      I am safe in every place;
    Under the shadow of the love of Jesus,
      Shall rest my weak soul.

I am safe in his arms
  From the strength of intense cares,
From the poison of temptations,
  From sin in its weight;
From the reach of mortal grieve,
  Cold doubts and terror;
I will get to weep in the vale of lamentation,
  But I will sing on a day to come.

Jesus is my firm Refuge -
  He died one afternoon;
Forever and ever on the Rock of ages
  Shall be my full trust:
I will rest here quietly,
  Before long I shall see the dawn;
I am watching for the break of the morning
  Of the day of great eternity.
tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
  safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o'ershaded,
  sweetly my soul shall rest.
Hark! 'tis the voice of angels,
  borne in a song to me.
Over the fields of glory,
  over the jasper sea.

    Safe in the arms of Jesus,
      safe on His gentle breast
    There by His love o'ershaded,
      sweetly my soul shall rest.

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
  safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world's temptations,
  sin cannot harm me there.
Free from the blight of sorrow,
  free from my doubts and fears;
Only a few more trials,
  only a few more tears!

Jesus, my heart's dear refuge,
  Jesus has died for me;
Firm on the Rock of Ages,
  ever my trust shall be.
Here let me wait with patience,
  wait till the night is over;
Wait till I see the morning
  break on the golden shore.
