Yn y deml megys Anna

(Aros yn nhŷ'r Arglwydd)
Yn y deml, megys Anna,
  Mi arosaf ddyddiau f'oes;
Byth o'th dŷ ni cheisiaf fyned,
  Er ei bod yn dywyll nos;
    Gwych anrhydedd, &c.,
  Yw bod yno 'n cadw drws.

Wedi dysgwyl fel Simeon,
  Ddyddiau meithion, pwy a ŵyr
Na chaf wel'd dyddanwch Israel,
  Megys yntau yn yr hwyr?
    Os caf hyny, &c,
  Marw mewn tangnefedd wnaf.
Llyfr Tonau ac Emynau (Stephen & Jones) 1868

(Staying in the house of the Lord)
In the temple, like Anna,
  I shall stay for the days of my age;
Never from thy house shall I seek to go,
  Although it be a dark night;
    A brilliant honour, &c.,
  Is being there keeping door.

Having waited like Simeon,
  For long days, who knows
Whether I shall see Israel's consolation,
  Like he in the evening?
    If I get that, &c.
  Die in peace I shall.
