Yn amser ie'nctyd, blentyn gwiw,
Cyfiawn a da yw cofio Duw,
  A rhodio er ei glod o hyd
  Tra pery'r bywyd yn y byd.

O dylyn Grist trwy godi'r groes,
A dechreu 'nawr yn more d'oes;
  Ac hyd yr hwyr dwg hi o hyd,
  Tra pery'r bywyd yn y byd.

Iau esmwyth yw iau Iesu glân,
Iau yw rydd nerth i fyn'd yn mlaen:
  Dewisa hon, da fydd o hyd,
  Tra pery'r bywyd yn y byd.

In the time of youth, worthy children,
It is righteous and good to remember God,
  And walk for his praise always

O follow thou Christ through lifting the cross
And begin now in the morning of thy age;
  And until the evening take it still

Tender youth is the youth of holy Jesus,
Youth is free strength to go forwards:
  Choose this, it will be good always,
