Yr Oen a laddwyd teilwng yw

(Esgyniad Crist)
"Yr Oen a laddwyd, teilwng yw!"
  Medd holl dafodau'r nef;
Ac uned pob creadur byw
  I'w foli ag uchel lef.

Dyrchafodd Crist o waelod bedd
  Goruwch y nefoedd wen,
Lle'r eistedd ar orseddfainc hedd,
  A'i goron ar ei ben.

Am iddo oddef marwol glwy'
  A'n prynu drwy ei waed,
Caiff holl goronau'r
    nefoedd mwy
  Eu bwrw wrth ei draed.

Boed peraroglau'i enw drud
  Yn llenwi daear lawr,
A chladder enwau'r byd i gyd
  Yn enw Iesu mawr.
Dyrchafodd Grist o waelod :: Dyrchafodd o waelodion

William Rees (Gwilym Hiraethog) 1802-83

Tonau [MC 8686]: French (The CL Psalmes of David 1615)

gwelir: Dyrchafodd Crist o waelodd bedd

(The Ascension of Christ)
"The Lamb who was slain, worthy is he!"
  Say all the tongues of heaven;
And let all living creature join
To praise with a loud voice.

Christ arose from depth of grave
  Above the glorious heavens,
Where he sits on a throne of peace,
With his crown upon his head.

About his suffering a mortal wound
And buying us through his blood,
All the crowns of the heavens
    may henceforth get
  Cast at his feet.

Let the aromas of his dear name be
  Filling the earth below,
And all the names of the world be buried
In the name of great Jesus.
Christ arose from depth :: He arose from depths

tr. 2009 Richard B Gillion
