Enw'r Iesu dyna destun

Enw'r Iesu, dyna destun
  Engyl a seraffiaid nef,
Syllant arno gan ryfeddu
  Wrth ei fawr ogoniant ef:
    Enw'r Iesu
 Ydyw swm bwriadau Duw.

Yn ei enw egyr dorau
  Gras y tragwyddoldeb mawr,
Drwyddynt rhed y nefol olau
  I breswylwyr daear lawr:
    Enw Iesu
  Ydyw'r ffordd i'r nefol wlad.

Enw'r Iesu a sancteiddia
  Holl serchiadau dynol-ryw,
Deil i fyny'r galon ysig,
  Cyfyd feirwon eto'n fyw:
    Enw'r Iesu
  Gaiff y clod tragwyddol mwy.

The name of Jesus, that is the theme
Of the angels and seraphim of heaven,
They gaze upon him with wonder
  At his great glory:
    The name of Jesus
Is the sum of the decisions of God.

In his name the doors of grace
  Of the great eternity open,
Through them runs the heavenly light
To the residents of earth below:
    The name of Jesus
Is the way to the heavenly country.

'Tis the name of Jesus that sanctifies
  All the affections of human-kind,
It holds up the wavering heart,
It raises the dead alive again:
    The name of Jesus
Shall get the acclaim for evermore.
tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion
