Noddfa a nerth i ni rai gwael

(Dinas gadarn sydd i ni. Salm XLVI. 1,2,4-7.)
Noddfa a nerth i ni rai gwael,
A chymmorth agos hawdd ei gael
  Yn nydd cyfyngder, yw ein Ior;
Am hyn mewn braw ni fyddai'n bron,
Pe dygid ffwrdd y ddaear gron,
  A'i holl fynyddoedd mawr, i'r môr.

Mae afon bur,
    a'i ffrydiau per
A lawenhant holl ddinas Ner,
  Preswylfa lân yr uchel Dduw:
Nid ysgog hi
    er byd o wae,
Duw yn ei chanol trigo mae,
  Rhydd iddi'n gynnar gymmorth gwiw.

Ond i ni bwyso ar ei ras,
Er twrf a therfysg
    mawr ein cas,
  Ar fyr cawn fuddugoliaeth lân;
Mae Duw y lluoedd gyd a ni,
Yn amddiffynwr mawr ei fri,
  O'n cylch bob dydd fel mur o dân.

(We have a secure city. - Psalm 46: 1,2,4-7.)
A refuge and strength to us poor,
And a close help, easy to get,
  In the day of straits, is our Lord;
Therefore in terror we shall never be,
If the round earth were taken away,
  With all its great mountains, to the sea.

There is a pure river,
    with its sweet streams
Which cheer all the city of the Lord,
  The holy residence of the high God:
She shall not be shaken
    despite a world of woe,
God in her midst is dwelling,
  Early he will give her worthy help.

If only we lean on his grace,
Despite the great uproar and
    tumult of our enemy,
  Shortly we shall get complete victory;
The God of hosts is with us,
A defender of great renown,
  Around us every day like a wall of fire.
