Paradwys O Baradwys wen

O paradise O paradise

Paradwys, O Baradwys wen!
  Pwy na hiraethai fod,
Yn gorphwys yn dy lenyrch teg,
  Mewn purdeb uwch y rhôd?

    Lle mae y dyrfa fawr,
      Yn y goleuni gwiw,
    Yn ddysglaer fel y wawr,
      Yn mhresenoldeb Duw.

Paradwys, O Baradwys wen!
  Heneiddio mae y byd;
O na chawn deimlo'r cariad pur
Sy'n dal ei wres o hyd!

Paradwys, O Baradwys wen!
  'R wy'n flin ar fyd o wae,
Mewn hiraeth mawr am weled gwedd
  Fy Iesu fel y mae:

Paradwys, O Baradwys wen!
  Heb bechod, O na bawn!
Chwi seintiau glân y nefol gor,
  Eich purdeb, O na chawn!

Paradwys, O Baradwys wen!
  Dymunwn groesi'r lli'
Yn llaw fy Mrawd, i wel'd y lle
  A barotow'd i mi:

Paradwys, O Baradwys wen!
  Dy gariad, Iesu cu,
A'm dygo'n ddyogel ar fy nhaith
  I'r lân orphwysfa fry.

Tôn [8686+6666]: Paradwys (John B Dykes 1823-76)

Paradise, O bright Paradise,
Who would not long to be,
Lying in thy fair glades,
  In purity above the sky?

    Where the great throng are,
      In the worthy light,
    Shining like the dawn,
      In the presence of God.

Paradise, O bright Paradise,
  The world is growing old;
O that I may get to feel the pure love
That is still keeping its warmth!

Paradise, O bright Paradise,
I am weary of a world of woe,
In great longing for seeing the countenance
Of my Jesus as he is:

Paradise, O bright Paradise,
Without sin, O that I may be!
Ye holy saints of the heavenly choir,
Your purity, O that I may get!

Paradise, O bright Paradise,
I would wish to cross the flood
In the hand of my Brother, to see the place
  That was prepared for me:

Paradise, O bright Paradise,
  Thy love, dear Jesus,
That brings me safely on my journey
To the holy resting place above.
tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion
O paradise! O paradise!
Who doth not crave for rest?
Who would not seek the happy land
Where they that loved are blest.

    Where loyal hearts and true
      Stand ever in the light.
    All rapture through and through,
      In God's most holy sight?

O paradise! O paradise!
  The world is growing old;
Who would not be at rest and free
  Where love is never cold.

O paradise! O paradise!
  'Tis weary waiting here;
I long to be where Jesus is,
To feel, to see Him near.

O paradise! O paradise!
I want to sin no more,
I want to be as pure on earth
  As on thy spotless shore.

O paradise! O paradise!
  I greatly long to see
The special place my dearest Lord
  In love prepares for me.

Lord Jesu, King of paradise,
O keep me in Thy love,
And guide me to that happy land
  Of perfect rest above.
Frederick W Faber 1814-63
