Ch. 3- Happy Birthday Scott
"Yes! We’re going to Hawaii again!" Clint exclaimed.
"Happy Birthday, baby!" Sheila hugged her step- son after Frank showed them the plane tickets.
"I figured you guys need to relax from working so hard on your new album," he reassured them.
"When do we leave?" Bob asked.
"Like tomorrow afternoon," Sheila replied.
"Kick butt!" Bob and Scott high fived each other and then they both exclaimed, "Hawaiian chicks! Oh yeah!"
After getting a bite to eat the entourage headed back to the hotel to pack their bags. Bob and Scott went to their rooms and started sorting everything out while having an interesting conversation about girls once again. Soon after though they fell asleep not knowing what lay ahead.
"Ok, boys time to get up!" Sheila walked into Clint and Dave’s room opening curtains and turning on the TV.
"Ahhh!" Clint pulled the blankets over his head.
"Let’s go, the plane leaves in 2 hours!" Sheila pulled the blankets back off of the boys.
They reluctantly but not willingly got up while Sheila continued to awaken everyone else.
In an hour everyone was on their way to the airport. After going through the baggage check and the security they waited by the terminal with a half an hour left until they boarded. Clint fell asleep again while the other three boys listened to their headphones. Around them, other passengers read newspapers and crossed their legs impatiently. Scott stared off into space as the three seats in front of him and his brothers were taken by a mom, a dad, and a teenage girl dressed in knee high black boots, tight black leather skirt, and a sparkly purple tank top. Her freckled face and blue eyes didn’t even seem to notice the four celebrities in front of her. She sat down a little red bag with the Skittles logo embroidered on it. The girls long reddish brown hair was somewhat pulled back but the rest of it laid about her shoulders in long waves. The girl pulled out a Teen People magazine and started to flip through it boredly. Scott just studied her for a couple seconds until Bob nudged his shoulder. Scaring him, Bob giggled as Scot practically jumped out of his chair, his headphones falling in his lap. The girl just gave them a quick glance and then continued reading.
"What?" Scott whispered to his immature brother.
Bob nodded towards the girl and smiled.
Scott rolled his eyes.
"You’re an idiot Bob."
Bob laughed and then sighed even though he knew that he could get Scott to at least try to talk to her before the plane landed in Hawaii.
Scott tried not to look at her by gazing around at all of the people. A group of about 7 boys stood by the gate of the same plane that the Moffatts were taking. The boys looked about 12 or 13, maybe 14, and they wore green and brown outfits with badges. Boy scouts, Scott smirked. Suddenly they announced that it was time to board. After the second class was loaded the first class passengers came next. The boy scouts boarded first and then the family of three whom actually ended up sitting about 2 rows behind Scott, Clint, and Bob. Dave, Sheila, and Frank sat in the row beside the brothers. The row in front of the Moffatts facing them was still empty. Then, a large family boarded last. A mom with long blonde hair, and two little kids (a baby girl and a younger girl) sat in front of Frank, Sheila, and Dave. Their father, a little boy, and another younger girl sat right behind Frank’s row. Scott watched the big as 3 very recognizable blondes walked on.
"Nuh- uh!" Scott complained. "We’re on the same flight as . . . Hanson!"
He said it in a hushed whisper but Clint and Bob heard him perfectly. And just to make the situation even more perfect, the eldest Hanson brother sat down right in front of them.
"Hi," he said.
The boys nodded as the boy sat his backpack down.
"Taylor, I’m gonna sit with Ashley ok?" said a very abrupt whiny voice.
The Moffatts turned their heads to see Mandy Moore, a girl who Scott guessed was Ashley, and Taylor Hanson board the airplane. Ashley and Mandy sat in the remaining seats by Isaac as Taylor and the youngest brother, Zac, put their carry- ons in the overhead bins.
"Alright," Taylor finally said back to Mandy who had already tuned him out.
Scott found this very odd. Mandy Moore was acting so stuck up. He rolled his eyes as Taylor and the little brother sat behind him, facing the family of three. But the plane was finally ready to take off. Scott sighed and fumbled around with his seatbelt. This was going to be a long flight.
