I am very thankful for Gov't sponsored Lodges for Seniors, where we are pampered and spoiled. Just like going out to a restaurant 3 times a day as we go to the dining room for our meals. The cleaning staff clean our rooms weekly. PCA's (personal care aids) are available at the ring of our call bells to assist us with minor needs or to send us off to hospital if need be.
The Lord has been moving in our midst and I have seen one major healing of a man for whom I prayed. He was on the verge of having a foot amputated because of a diabetic ulcer when I decided to undertake for him in prayer for healing and soon the ulcer was healed. I pray with many for healing and have seen the Lord's healing touch on some.
There are just a few residents who are born again into the kingdom of God but in the past few months five have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Let me share Irene's conversion...she sits at my table for breakfast and every morning she would say, 'I just wish I could die.' One morning these words came out of my mouth, 'Do you know where you are going?' to which she replied, 'No, but I wish I did. Do you?' I replied, Yes, I do. I am going to be in heaven with Jesus and you can know that too.' I shared with her salvation Scriptures and some of my testimony and then said, 'Now would you like to pray and ask Jesus into your life?' and she said, 'O YES' and she did. Never once since that time has she spoken of wanting to die.
The Lord sometimes awakens me in the night to speak encouraging words for my ministry here and on one occasion spoke these words, "As you mingle with these people I shall speak to them through you" and He has proved this to be true. One day as I sat at a table two ladies joined me and as we chatted, suddenly the salvation message came forth from my mouth. Sadly they are from a denomination where they are taught that if you are a good person and attend church you will be saved but they did say, 'What a wonderful conversation.'So, I know that He will fulfill His promise to speak through me.
Of equal priority is my Internet ministry, in receiving e-mails from many of you, most asking for prayer. I do answer all of your letters and pray one time for each (to do more would be impossible). I thank each one of you for responding to our web site and I enjoy hearing from each of you.
I would covet your prayers for me, that God will keep me strong and able to continue in ministry for Him.
With love
Dorothea
