Maybe it's for a financial breakthrough
a restored relationship
a healing or miracle
a release for ministry
a harvest of salvation in your family
Do you think you have waited so long and you begin to feel frustrated, anxious and tempted to quit.
How many of us are sick and tired of waiting for God to fulfil a promise to us?
I want to share with you some "SECRETS TO WAITING WELL AND NOT GROWING WEARY"
Habakkuk 2:2-3 says "And the Lord answered me and said, Write the
vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who
passes by may (be able to) read (it easily and quickly) as he
hastens by.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the
end (fulfilment); it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it
tarry, wait (earnestly) for it, because it will surely come; it
will not be behindhand on its appointed day." (Amp.)
According to this verse.. TO GET FROM THE VISION TO THE FULFILMENT OF IT WE HAVE TO WAIT!!!
WAITING IS PART OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD!
The world wants everything instantly. It tells us we can have it NOW!
But we are of the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of God is about waiting. It's about SEED TIME and HARVEST TIME.
Even when you have received a promise of God, you rejoice in that thing a little while and then you begin to wait for something else!
Why? Because the Kingdom of God is based on seed time and harvest time.
Have you ever wondered WHY the Kingdom of God is based on this seed time and harvest time?
God has made it that way for our benefit. God is just and His principles work consistently in EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES. That is the way He created it.
Think for a moment, about the kingdom of darkness and how waiting
is a good thing.
If everything was instant, then the moment we sin, we would
INSTANTLY reap the consequences of it.
Do you see why waiting is NOT a bad thing!! Even when we think it is and even when it FEELS bad it is a good thing.
Galatians 6:9 says " And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right , for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap if we faint not" (Amp.)
Here like in Habakuk we see God has an APPOINTED TIME and A DUE SEASON.
"Appointed time" is NOT a set date on a calendar. For example;
December 8, 2001. So You say to yourself "well, God has a specific
calendar date picked out for my breakthrough, so I will sit and
wait for it."
I do not believe that is true. I do not believe that is what the
scriptures are saying.
If you study out the words "APPOINTED TIME" in the Vine's dictionary, you will see it means,; the PROPER, the APPROPRIATE and the SUITABLE TIME.
God's appointed time and due season is the time when God KNOWS it is BEST SUITABLE and MOST APPROPRIATE for us to receive what He has promised.
Mark 4:26-28 says "And He said, The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed upon the ground and then continues sleeping and rising, night and day while the seed sprouts and grows and increases-he knows not how. The earth produces (acting) by itself- first the blade then the ear and then the full grain in the ear". (Amp.)
God gives us a vision, promise or word. And it is planted as a SEED on the inside of us.
That SEED then has to GROW to the place where it produces FRUIT. Fruit or the "FULL GRAIN IN THE EAR", represent the same thing, which is the manifestation of the vision or promise in our lives.
The fruit comes AFTER the seed has taken ROOT and is well ESTABLISHED. The rooting and establishing happen UNDERGROUND.
After a time (or season) of waiting, you begin to see signs of growth ABOVE the ground. ..first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear...
We wait for God to do His work on the inside of us. He needs to get
us rooted and established so we can handle our harvest;
with maturity
in a way that will glorify Him (not us)
in a way that we won't lose it
verse 28 says ..."first the blade, then the ear then full grain in the ear..."
If all we are ever looking for is the fruit we will get worn out
waiting. Blades come first.
We have to start LOOKING FOR THE BLADES IN OUR LIVES. Those little
things that are happening towards the fulfilment of the promise.
BLADES OFTEN DON'T LOOK LIKE FRUIT.
It was our first spring living in the country and I was anxious to plant a garden of herbs, flowers and vegetables. I went outdoors and saw bunches of these green rubbery looking "weeds" coming up all over the garden. I aggressively pulled those ugly weeds out to prepare the ground for my good plants.
One day, in the middle of the summer, I went to have a look at the garden and I found two beautiful flowers. One was purple and the other orange. As I examined them closer, I noticed these lovely flowers were attached to the green rubbery weeds I'd missed pulling out in the spring.
Those ugly weeds I'd pulled out, were actually perennial flowers planted by the previous tenants! But because I did not recognize them without flowers, I pulled them all out.
The same is true in the kingdom of God. We pull out the blades because they do not look like fruit. Remember BLADES OFTEN DO NOT LOOK LIKE FRUIT.
Sometimes we wonder, "what on earth does this situation or trial in life, today, have to do with the harvest I am believing God for?"
Remember in Mark 4:27 the end of the verse says "and he knows not
how".
This is how it is for us too. We "know not how" this trial or
situation in our life has anything to do with the harvest we are
believing God for. But once again, let me remind you...BLADES OFTEN
DO NOT LOOK LIKE FRUIT.
Hear me, people, GOD IS AT WORK IN YOU!!! His ways are higher than ours and the way He sees best to work a harvest in our lives, is sometimes very different from how we think it should come about.
I want to encourage you. I want to remind you;
IF YOU ARE WAITING FOR A HARVEST, YOU ARE NORMAL. WAITING IS PART OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
GOD HAS AN APPOINTED TIME AND A DUE SEASON FOR YOU. AND IT IS THE PERFECT HARVEST TIME FOR YOU.
God bless you, as you await a harvest and remember, look for the blades and do not pick your perennials.
