The Healing Hand Of God

In my posting today I would like to share a testimony of the power of our Lord to heal. A few years ago I discovered a lump on my neck and on consulting my doctor was told it could be mumps, infection, a stone in the duct or cancer. The possibility of mumps or infection was ruled out and I was confined to hospital for ten days receiving mega doses of penicillon which, had it been a stone in the duct, could have dislodged it. Before entering hospital I had purchased a small notebook, not really knowing why. Early in my walk with the Lord I had received teaching on the power of praying Scripture back to Him so, during the days in hospital I diligently searched the Scriptures and recorded in the little book the many verses pertaining to healing and of His being with us in times of trouble. As I did so I began to personalize the verses and to use them in my prayers.

At the end of the 10 days the lump was still there and my doctor arranged for me to see a cancer specialist in a nearby city. As I spoke with him he observed the lump and walked to the telephone to order an emergency operation to take place a few days later. Then he explained what the operation would entail....removal of a gland on my neck and nerves on the right side of my face. They would probably have to remove nerves on the left side, which control the right side and I would be left with much distortion in my face. In the meantime I continued to pray the Scriptures in my little book and it was seldom out of my hands.

I entered hospital in the city the day prior to the scheduled operation and received the necessary tests. That evening the anesthesist came to my room, asking if I understood the results of the operation to which I replied that I did. Then he asked if I was afraid and I answered that I was not as I knew that my God would be with me and he left with a smile on his face. The operation was scheduled for 12.00 noon the next day and an hour previous the surgeon came to my room saying he would like to examine the lump and, as he did so, found it to be gone. A look of amazement came over his face as he said he was cancelling the operation and sending me home. O, the glory of the knowledge that a great and wonderful God had touched me and had brought healing to my body. I have never known such joy as I knew at that moment. I remembered a Scripture that I had been praying and knew that it was for me.....He sent His Word and healed them (me) and delivered them (me) from their (my) destructions . (Psalm 107:20). This Scripture has also proved to be true in regards to the other four times the Lord has brought healing to my body.

The following are the Scriptures recorded in my little book, personalized and made into a prayer......

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer and attend to the voice of my supplications. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. Your angels, O Lord, encamp all around me because I fear You and You deliver me.

The righteous cry out and You hear, O Lord, and deliver us out of all our trouble. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You, O Lord, deliver us out of them all. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor you will surround them with a shield. Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. For You have not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, nor have You hidden Your face from me, but when I cried to You, You heard. For in the time of trouble, You shall hide me in Your pavillion, in the secret place of Your tabernacle You shall hide me, You shall set me high upon a rock.

O Lord, my God, I cried out to You, and You have healed me. I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy for You have considered my trouble. You have known my soul in adversities and have not shut me up into the hands of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. How precious is Your loving kindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. I am abundantly satisfied with the abundance of Your house, and You give me drink from the river of Your pleasure, for with You is the fountain of life, in Your light I see light.

I fear not for You are with me, I am not dismayed for You are my God. You will strengthen me, yes, You will help me, You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand. I fear not, for You have redeemed me. You have called me by my name. I am Yours. When I pass through the waters, You will be with me, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow me. When I walk through the fire, I shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch me, for You are the Lord my God.

But the salvation of the righteous is from You, O Lord. You are my strength in the time of trouble; And You, O Lord, shall help me and deliver me from the wicked and save me, because I trust in You. I call upon You in the day of trouble; You will deliver me and I shall glorify You.

Create in me a clean heart, O Lord, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of my salvation and uphold me with Your generous Spirit. I will sing of Your power, yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning. For You have been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. To You, O my strength, I will sing praises. For God is my defence, the God of my mercy. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, because You have been my help. Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You. Your right hand upholds me.

Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy. If I regard iniquity in my heart, You, O Lord, will not hear. But certainly God has heard me. You have attended to the voice of my prayer. I cried out to You, O God, with my voice, to God with my voice and You gave ear to me. In the day of trouble, O Lord, I sought You. My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing. My soul refused to be comforted. I called in trouble and You delivered me; You answered me in the secret place of thunder.

How lovely is Your tabernacle, O Lord of hosts. My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. In the day of my trouble I will call upon You for You will answer me. Hear my prayer and let my cry come to You. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble. Incline Your ear to me, in the day that I call, answer me speedily.

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless Your Holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul and I forget not all Your benefits. You forgive all my iniquities, You heal all my diseases, You redeem my life from destruction, You crown me with loving kindness and tender mercy, You satisfy my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed like the eagles. You were wounded for my transgressions, You were bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace was upon You and with Your stripes I am healed.

You will give me back my health again and heal my wounds . You will remove from me all sickness. Then my light will break forth as the morning, my healing shall spring forth speedily and my righteousness shall go before me; the glory of the Lord shall be my rearguard. Yea, I will bless You, O Lord, and not forget the glorious things You do for me. You forgive all my sins, You heal me. I shall serve the Lord my God only, then You will bless me with food and with water, and You will take away sickness from me. For You are the Lord that healeth me. You wish above all things that I may prosper and be in health, even as my soul prospers. You sent Your Word and healed me and delivered me from my destructions. O Lord my God, I cried out to You and You have healed me.

Come, let me return unto You, O Lord, for You have torn but You will heal me. You have stricken but You will bind me up. And the power of the Lord was present to heal me. May we confess our trespasses to one another that we may be healed. But rather I seek Your kingdom, O God, and all these things shall be added unto me. Let not my heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. I believe in God and also in You, Lord Jesus. In Your Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so You would have told me. You go to prepare a place for me. If You go and prepare a place for me, You will come again and receive me unto Yourself; that where You are there I may be also.

Peace You leave with me, Your peace You give to me, not as the world gives do You give to me. And I know that all things work together for good to those who love You, O Lord, and are the called according to Your purpose. Your eyes, O Lord, are on the righteous and Your ears are open to their cries. You have heard my prayer, You have seen my tears. Surely You will heal me. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts me in all my tribulation, that I may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort I myself am comforted by God. Then I cried out to You, O Lord, in my trouble, and You delivered me out of my distresses, and You led me forth by the right way. O that men would give thanks to You, O Lord, for Your goodness, and for Your wonderful works to the children of men. For You satisfy the longing soul, and fill the hungry soul with goodness. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and Your glory above all the earth, that Your beloved may be delivered, save with Your right hand and hear me. Give me help from trouble, for vain is the help of men. Through God I will do valiently, for it is You who shall tread down my enemies.

Surely I will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. I will not be afraid of evil tidings. My heart is steadfast, trusting in You, Lord. I love You, Lord, because You have heard my voice and mu supplications. Because You have inclined Your ear to me, therefore I will call upon You as long as I live. I called You, O Lord, in distress; You answered me and set me in a broad place.

With my whole heart I have sought You; O let me not wander from Your commandments! Your Word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Lord, I cry out to You, make haste to me. Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You. Let my prayer be set before You as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Stretch out Your hand from above; rescue me and deliver me from great waters. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has given me life.I call to You and You will answer me, and show me great and mighty things which I do not know. You will go before me and make the crooked places straight. My help comes from You, O Lord, who made heaven and earth. You will keep me in perfect peace, if my mind is stayed on You, because I trust in You.

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed, save me and I shall be saved, for You are my praise. You, O Lord, will also be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in time of trouble. For You, the Lord my God will hold my right hand, saying to me, fear not for I will help you. I wait on the Lord, I am of good courage, and You shall strengthen my heart, wait, I say on the Lord. You shall cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings I shall take refuge. Your truth shall be my shield and buckler
