What  is Cáritas?

The word cáritas comes from  the Greek carus, which means the most valuable, the most loved. The most valuable human asset is love and this talent is transmitted via charity.
Cáritas is an international institution with it's seat in Rome since 1950. Presently, Càritas in active in more than 50 dioceses in the Mexican Republic.
Cáritas Veracruz is the official organization of the Catholic Church in the diocese of Veracruz, whose intention is to foment, to develop and to facilitate the spirit of sharing by means of Christian communication and provision of  staple goods and services to the poorest of the poor and those affected by natural disasters such as the October floods in Mexico, which have left hundreds dead
and hundreds of thousands homeless and devastated.  Our current greatest need is daily bread in the form of coin, which you may deposit in the electronic window, by direct deposit or check.  Contributions to the Catholic Church even in foreign countries are tax deductible by U.S. Treasury regulations.
Parties interested in aiding with services and  bulk goods are encouraged to communicate directly by phone with the director Diacono Raul Nieto Cruz, Administrador.

 Our Objectives

How we accomplish our task

We base our work on socioeconomic studies that determine the origin of the problem and its diverse manifestations. We provide permanent support through specific programs: Emergency relief cases for natural disasters, continuing medical services for indigent patients, travelers aid, clothing bazaars and support for community aid programs such as the children's home Casa Calasanz (orphanage) and Mother Teresa's Missionaries or Sisters of Charity.

What we offer to the community?

An option for attention to acute community needs and community participation in an international program recognized and distinguished by its capacity for organization, transparency in the handling of its resources, efficiency, honesty and reliability.
