IPL sucks because they still burn coal
What is seriously wrong with Indianapolis?
This is one question that I do have the answer to. Notwithstanding the farcical questioneer on my
GO and Chess Club page where I have fun at this city's expense, there is a much deeper problem lurking downtown. I am talking about an ecological disaster; just before you go to the I 70 / I 65 freeway enterance,
the one in the vicinity of Missouri, Kentucky and South streets intersection: it is adjacent to the RCA dome where the Colts play football. Yes, the very same company that I am dependent upon for electricity, has a monopoly stranglehold over this metropolis.
I cannot go anywhere else for this energy. As you see by clicking on the blue underlined interstate area, you see the grey railroad track lines leading from all directions to the power plant down town. Over a hundred cars of coal roll into the IPL power plant and is incinerated. Needless to say that the air surrounding this plant is naucious and rancid.
Coal worked in the good old days because the alternative of which is worse in the long run.
Now that we know how to use to create energy, it is quite obvious that a coal burning power plant is needless and obscolete. I would be glad when the day comes that I do not have to wonder if what I smell in the air is 'French Fries' or what it actually is, is pollution from our SOLE source of power for the INDY metro area.
