N64? Dead System? Nope!
As an actual surprise, Activision has just released a new Nintendo 64 game this month: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. Does this mean there might be more new N64 games on the way? Probably not. But who knows? I'll keep my eye on it.

August 27 The following game is now released:
  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (Activision)
November 23 Another game has just been announced, for Japan: Bomberman 64, but not the one that came out here in 1997. This is different. It's more like the classic Super Bomberman (for the Super NES) than the Bomberman games released for the Nintendo 64. If this game is released here, it will likely have a different title. So far, Hudson Soft has no plans to do so. But knowing how much people over here like the Bomberman multi-player battle mode, I think the chance of it getting released here will be higher than 50%.

The following games are now released:

  • NFL Blitz Special Edition (Midway)
  • The Powerpuff Girls: Chemical X-Traction (BAM! Entertainment)
  • Razor Freestyle Scooter (Crave Entertainment)
October 31 Another game has just been announced: Razor Freestyle Scooter. This game can only be rented, and only rented at Blockbuster Video. I believe the same is true for NFL Blitz Special Edition. The Powerpuff Girls will, however, be sold at stores (and rented).
September 28 One game has just been announced: NFL Blitz Special Edition. This game will be released this year, along with The Powerpuff Girls.

  • Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo / Hal)
  • Pokemon Stadium (Nintendo / GameFreak)

September 2 Bad news for EarthBound fans: EarthBound 64 has been cancelled because the team working on it is too busy developing other games, like Gamecube games, Game Boy Advance games, etc. Let's hope that after their schedules clear somewhat, they'll continue with the development. But nothing is certain right now.
