I like doing lots of things. Some of my favorite things to do are read, write, play around with HTML, and research genealogy. Some of my favorite authors are Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Michael Phillips, Beverly Lewis, Gene Stratton-Porter, George MacDonald, and the list goes on and on!! Below are some poems I have written, and links, and of course, a few of my favorite books!!!





To Mama, who isn't ashamed of standing for what she believes in; even when others criticize her for homeschooling Mara and I.

Whenever I hear of someone who was not afraid,
To stand up, and not cower, for what they believe
I only wish that when that time comes for me,
I will have the faith, to stand unashamedly.

Queen Esther stood, at a time when her life was endangered.
She knew the risk well, yet went to the king.
Daniel, regardless of laws, refused to quit praying,
When some jealous satraps sought to take his life away.

So, Father, I pray, that you'll give me the strength
To make it through the days ahead.
And also, that I will stand firm,
When it's my turn, to stand for what I believe.



Lemonade
Cool lemonade that comes to my aid,
Is very nice on hot, sultry days.

Morning Glories
Every Morning Glory is made,
So it wakes up with the light,
You can see them in the morning,
But they must be in bed by night.

Pink, purple, and white.
All of their colors
Are so very bright!

Some people think they are weeds,
But others know better
To them the petals are too pretty,
To be thought of as a fetter.

O Weed
O weed, o weed,
Why won't you heed,
My advice for you,
This is the truth:
I would not live here,
Because it would bring no cheer
For me, or for you.

I need you to go,
For you are causing me woe!
You are killing my flowers,
So the smallest one cowers.
My flower bed used to be,
So very lovely!
Now it is ugly!

Weed, go away
I've had enough of you for a day
I cannot find your root, you horrible weed,
And you are going to seed!

That you don't please me?
You dreadful weed!

Splotches is a handsome cat,
With a small gray top hat.
He is a sweet little kitty,
And that is the end to this ditty.



My Basset Hound
I once had a sweet little dog,
That was a sad looking basset hound.
She never, ever ate like a hog,
And had the sweetest manners around!



Calligraphy
Calligraphy,
Is fun for me,
To make the swirls,
And the curls!
The whirls aren't too hard at all,
As long as they aren't too tall!
Sit up straight,
And you'll do great!

Is so easy!
