Hi! My name is Pammie,I was the leader of Daisy Troop #249 when my daughter was a Daisy Scout. I made up this site long ago, I hope you like my site, there is something for everyone here so as long as people need it I will keep it going.
You can find out about my experience as a leader of Troop #249 here:
Our Leaders page
We only had 5 girls in our troop but the mom's were very helpful, which made our experience fun!
We had alot of fun, but got alot of stuff done too - here is a sampling:
Parent Meeting
Halloween/Birthday party
Made bird snacks
Made candles
Made Christmas ornaments by tracing our hand print
Went on a field trip to the Woodward Twp. Fire Department and had a super time.
We were in the Christmas parade in Jersey Shore
S.U. Christmas party after parade. Everyone at the party brought canned goods to donate to the Love Center in Jersey Shore.
We met Santa after the parade & one of the girls who was the very first one to sit on Santa's lap, got her picture in the Lock Haven paper.
We've went to Manor Care Nursing home once a month & made crafts with some of the residents.
Christmas party & made cookies at Pammie's house - the girls got knit hats & crocheted slippers from Sara, a lady from the church who sponsors our troop. Pammie put bells on the slippers too. We also got a beanie reindeer & a camel Christmas ornament.
Learning Girl Scout songs.
Sent a shoe box filled with Christmas presents to a 5 year old girl for Operation Christmas Child.
Tour of the Love Center in Jersey Shore to see how they use the canned goods we donated. The girls got lunch and a tour. They learned about how donations are used & about how important volunteers are. They really enjoyed it & we made a $10 donation to the Center so they can continue with their good works.
Mall event for Girl Scout Sunday - our troop did Friendship sticks. The girls loved it!
We thought about maybe getting into Mascots, we ended not doing it with our Daisy troop due to time - but here is a great link of places we've found that are very helpful.
Junior Troop 704' Traveling Mascots
They have alot of good information on starting mascots, hosting mascots, etc.
Hope you find them helpful....we have!
We also traded Council Patches
To go to our Patch Trading Page: Click on our Council Patch.
I don't trade patches anymore, but would be happy to give any help or advise to anyone interested - it is VERY fun! So please feel free to ask! me.......( you might want to take a peek at our patch trading page first to see what we already have....I have them listed.)
Need some craft ideas? Vist our craft room for some more great links!
