ABOUT OUR LEADERS
OUR LEADERS
Hi! I'm Pammie. I used to be the leader of my daughter's Daisy Troop #249. When I started this site my daughter was 5 years old. She is now 12 years old and I am no longer a leader of this troop. When I moved up to Brownies I turned this site over to the next leader and to my surprise - after all this time I came to find that the site was never updated or anything. I have moved twice and upon unpacking for hopefully the last move of my life I found these papers and found out that no one ever took this over. I don't know what happened, but when I saw that people were still checking it out, I thought I better update it since the information is wrong. Since I believe the site is still needed, I will try to keep it going. I hope this is ok since I am no longer a Girl Scout - except in heart - as we all are no matter how old we get. Hope you all still enjoy the site! Let me know!
I was a Girl Scout from Brownie level to Seniors. My step-mother was my leader when I was a Brownie. So when my daughter was old enough to be a Daisy & they didn't have a Daisy troop in my area, we started one. I didn't plan on becoming a leader, but my daughter needed one so I did it. And I fell in love all over again with scouting. I even met my former Junior-Senior leader at a association meeting & she was thrilled that I had become a leader. My goal is to become as good a leader as she was.
My first year was rough. I didn't even get my training till the end of the year, but the girls had alot of fun & learned alot. The parents were helpful. And all 5 Daisy's bridged up to Brownies & are all still involved with their new troop. I decided to stay on with Daisy's since I know a little about it now & so there wouldn't be a need to find another leader next year. Now I am out of Girl Scouts, but I still hold a special place in my heart for them. I hope this site will continue to help new leaders.
Lynette is who was my co-leader for my second year. (I call her my co-leader & not assistant because she is much more than an assistant.) She was one of my Daisy mom's last year & she came to every meeting & every field trip. We meet pretty often & talk on the phone all the time. (Our husbands say we talk to each other more than we do to them.)Lynette is great! She is like my right arm. She helps out with everything & together we come up with some great ideas. She has moved up to council member and has kept with Scouting.
