Veymos' Character Profile

Picture coming whenever I'm inspired to draw something.

Name: Veymos

Age/Sex: 33/Male

Race/Species/Origin: Changed human from pre-Libitina Etuua.

Physical: 5’9”. Medium build, very powerful. Black, close-cropped hair. Very pale skin. Red eyes. Slightly pointed canines, giving a wicked leer to his smile.

Personality: Manipulative, devious, clever. Power-hungry, visionary (though whose “vision” is up for debate). Has much control over people, can almost always get them to cooperate with his will. Has charisma.

Skills/Abilities: Fighting. Scheming, deviousness.

Powers from Libitina: Night-vision. Slight mind-control/reading (enhanced due to his keen perception and ability to manipulate people).

History: Before Libitina, Veymos had been working for a top level scientific corporation. He had graduated from Oraton University after studying many years of political science and chemistry (odd combination, but that’s what he was interested in). It was at a science convention of sorts that Veymos was approached by a private entrepreneur about a job.

This entrepreneur introduced himself as Alcibiades, and offered Veymos an incredible opportunity to rise up in the world of science and the chance to help create a wonderful new world. This, and the significant amount of money offered, was enough incentive to incite Veymos to quit his current job and go to work for Alci.

Over the years, Veymos and Alci grew closer in their relationship; Veymos looked up to Alcibiades as a mentor and friend. Veymos continued his work to develop this new wonder chemical, which he dubbed Lilith, never really questioning to what ends it might be used. He couldn’t imagine Alci ever employing it for malicious, destructive purposes. (Yes, he was a blind and disillusioned idiot. Shut-up and get over it.)

Eventually, Veymos declared his work a success and Alci praised him immensely for it. It was only shortly thereafter that Alci implemented his plan to “restart” the world by using this Lilith to wipe out all human life. It did not go exactly as he had planned. Veymos had never actually tested Lilith on human subjects, so the effects were undocumented and unknown.

The biological reactions from this chemical were instantaneous and quite disastrous. Lilith was renamed by the surviving populous as "Libitina." Due to Veymos' extended low exposure during Lilith’s (now Libitina's) development, Veymos was able to survive, and was, in his turn, physically and physiologically changed.

Despite the knowledge of what Alcibiades had purposefully done, Veymos could not bring himself to hate the man. He felt betrayed, yes, and hurt, but not hateful. It was more that he felt obligated to continue Alci’s vision. His first communications with V’ref’ka sealed this resolve.

Gradually, Veymos developed social power, wealth, and a following of his own. He hired Eris and Deygo as mercenaries, which didn’t prove to be as fruitful as he had hoped. He took Jodin under his wing as a protégé, feeling more secure knowing that there was someone who would continue the work his master, Alci, had began if something should ever happen to him.

Currently, Veymos is seeking to have Eris retrieved so that she may be punished for her disobedience, and he is pushing Deygo to his limits by requiring that he be the one to get her. Veymos is intrigued by the rumors of two strange, unaffected foreigners, and is devising ways that he could use this to his advantage.

Other Information: Has direct relationship with V’ref’ka, though no one else really knows this. Feels it is his duty to complete his master’s work (i.e. V’ref’ka~s vision).
