BMS: Oh god.....
I was looking at Electronic Gaming Monthly (Its my new favorite magazine now that UGP is gone.), and I saw this article written by a bunch of girls saying that Solid Snake from MGS is supposed to be the sexy guy in the video game world. I guess that means we should all pay more attention to him. It could help us get more girls. I also found out that some girls think Link is cute.

MADGRAD: Yep, I guess Solid Snake is a manly man. I will be the first to emulate him. I'll start by wearing thick dark clothes all day long. Then I'll hide behind boxes and snap anyones neck if they get too close. And to top it off, I'll engage in heavy sexual flirting with women who aren't really there by making incoherent moans into my wristwatch. Oh wait, this is my normal day.....
Duke Nukem: Chicks dig that psycho but think I'm a sexist testosterone crazed freak?
Madgrad: Yep.
Duke: Damn
BMS: Oh boy, I guess that means I have to dress up like Link. Time to break out the tights.
Madgrad: NOOOOOO!!!
RtR: Oh it won't be so bad Madgrad! All the girls scream for guys wearing skin-tight outfits. Though they did so as they were running away the last time I did it:( *SOB* I havent touched my "TOMBA!" trunks since.
Infernal Spawn of Hell
Madgrad: Ah, always nice to get a sane videogame related letter from Ch...Infernal Spawn of Hell. Didn't really answer my question though....so as punishment...I WILL BURN DONE THE JUNGLE! HAHAH! You will have no where to hide you bastard! I'll get you yet!
BMS: I hate it when one perfectly good idea is one level of a crappy game. Shadows of the Empire was crap except for the first level. Thank goodness that they eventially made it into a whole game.
RtR: Umm, when we said multi-genre games, I thought we meant something along the lines of Die Hard Trilogy (part 1: overhead action/shootemup, 2: FP gun game, 3: driving), I wouldn't really say MGS is a multi-genre game considering its in a genre all its own. Yes, the much maligned, until recently, stealth genre of which titles like Thief, Tenchu, and the previous Metal Gear games are part of. And there you have it. Now, Infernal Spawn, if you would happen to see the Monkey in the jungle, would you plz ask him/her/it to RETURN MY F*^#ING SHAVER! This beard is starting to become really unmanageable...
Ok, I might as well grace you guys with a videogame related letter, so here it is. In the videogame industry, there are things that are overated, but I will give you a list of the biggest offenders:
Glover
This was a really bad game, but it still got good reviews. The control is complex and ends up detracting from the game, the level design sucks, and the game does nothing to keep you interested. I returned it the next day.
Wild ARMs
I used to like this game, but after playing through it again, I just found myself incredibally bored. I played up untill you fight Mother for the first time, but after dying, I just quit.
F-Zero
Not F-Zero X (which I like a lot), but the original. The control is too loose to make this a very enjoyable game and the lack of a multi-player mode br. I'd give it a 5.
Cool Boarders (series)
These games just suck so much, I couldn't believe it. The first one was so mundane, I couldn't believe it. I didn't enjoy it at all. The second one was better, but not by much. But what amazes me is that Cool Boarders 3 succeeds in doing what it promises and STILL falls flat on its face.
Final Fantasy 7
This is probably the only game on this list I'd give a good rating to, but this whole "FF7 is the best RPG ever" praise is rediculous. The best RPG is a tie between Xenogears and Panzer Dragoon Saga, although if I had to choose one to play, I'd play PDS because its more fun. FF7 is too easy and lacks any real emotion in the storyline. Even the scene where Aeris is (spoiler), it didn't have much emotion.
Dragon Quest/Warrior 1-4
Damn, these games sucked. They were old, useless games where all you did was move from town to town, buy stuff, gain levels, and try to complete the game. Plus, the stories were pretty non-existant. The first game was a two act story of save the princess/kill the dragon lord. The second and third had better stories, but still weren't very good. The fourth had the best story of all of the NES ones, but I was still bored out of my mind. I couldn't really comment on 5 and 6, since my import shop never recieved copies, but from what I've played on emulators, they aren't very special. All Dragon Quest did for RPGs was sell a lot. Nothing else (Ultima was the first RPG ever). These are the most overrated games. Stay tuned for the most underrated games. Coming soon!
Isca Morinso
Winner of a lot of awards (hope your brain doesn't explode from me writing a video game related letter)
P.S. Madgrad, you'll never complete all 22 of those games. Some will remain untouched by the end of the year.
P.P.S. Your site won't show up on Netscape Navigator.
Madgrad: On second thought, I really should have let someone else answer this one first. Man they say that even madmen tell the truth sometimes, and this is a prime example. Okay, let me start from the top. Glover did suck. Wild Arms was very good, but as with almost all RPGs, they aren't designed to be played twice. F-Zero was good in its day. Cool Boarders 3 rocks, but not as much as the latest ESPN snowboarder. FF7 rules you @sshole. Dragon Quest was dull. There, you got me to agree on some points. BTW, I've played all 22 of the games I got for Christmas, and beaten 6 of them. And I just bought myself three more, and I'm playing them to. So suck it.
BMS: I agree with some of your choices, but disagree with others. Wild Arms is fun, and it's nice to get into a different environment in an RPG. It's like a western on another planet. I also don't know what's your problem with F-Zero. Because of your letter I got out the ole SNES and played a few races, it controls great. Coolboarders in any form does suck, 1080 Snowboarding kicks it's arse.
RtR: Some interesting choices Isca. Glover wuz a suck-er and Cool Boarders bites the big one. But F-Zero 64, while not as good as its SNES predecessor, was still a pretty good game. And yeah, FFVII was mildly disappointing as the follow-up to the pure gaming bliss that was FFIII, but dont judge it too harshly; it is still an excellent game. You played through Wild Arms twice? Of course its gonna suck the second time around, it was a pain in the @$$ the first time through! But what you said about DW 1-4...j..just don't go there man..don't go there. They were 8-bit games, back then console RPG's didn't have deep and involving plots and storylines. That wasn't really introduced until Phantasy Star 2 and Final Fantasy 2 some years later. For this insult, I Ragnarok the now-Red-in-the-face, bestow upon you yet another contaminated barrell of diddley squat for your collection!
