Tomb Raider 3

They say that the third time is a charm, and god do I wish that they were right. Tomb Raider 3 is the third game in the adventure series starring our favorite well endowed Brit spelunker, and follows in the exact same vein as the first two titles. Folks, shouldn't something have changed by now?

Graphics
Now this is just plain wrong. By the time that you hit the third game in a series, especially a fourth generation title, you shoul have fixed the problems that started in THE FIRST DAMN GAME! If you have played TR1 or TR2 , you will see the exact same graphics. The developers claim that the new engine uses triangles to smooth over jagged edges in the game, and nake everything look more realistic, but I dont buy it. The games graphics are jagged, there is horrible clipping, and the colors are dull. I'm no graphics whore, but this game is butt ugly. The only graphics change is that her breast AND ass grew in this one.WOW!

SOUND
If you heard TR2, you've heard TR3. The only higlight is Lara's erotic grunt-a-thon. You know what I mean, so don't deny it. But as with TR1 and 2, the other sounds suck.

Control
In keeping with tradition, the control is horrible. This game has the worst control known to man, and its compounded by actual bugs that ruin any hint of analog control. And then there is the lovely camera angle, that makes even moving Lara a pain in the ass.

Gameplay
This really made me sick. There is absolutely nothing new in TR3 , at all. Sure there are a couple of new vehicles, and a few new weapons, but that is it. The puzzles are the same, and the cheap tricks that are used to kill Lara are there too. There is absolutely no innovation at all in this title, and it is riddled with bugs. Bugs are bad enough in a PC game when they can be fixed, but in a PSX game, what you buy is what you are stuck with. So when a game like this is riddled with bugs, there is no changing it. I'm ashamed of Eidos, a company that looked poised to revolutionize the industry. Now they have submited a game that shows no innovation, and sometimes comes close to unplayable, just so it could get out in time for the holidays, and so they can make a quick buck. Shame on you Eidos.

Graphics: 6

Sound: 6

Control: 4

Gamplay: 5

Overall: 5. Please, save yourself. If you must play the game, rent it,and spend your money on other much better games.
