everybody knows.
22 march 1999.
that no one's saying nothin'.

guess who's going to take the blame for my big mouth?

okay. shower points of discussion:
goosebumps.
water temperature vs. hand temperature.
let's begin.

okay. goosebumps. why in the world are they called goosebumps? why not geesebumps? i mean.. hm. do gooses, er geese, get bumps like we get bumps when we get cold? where did that thought come from? where was the origin of this silly phrase? if you know, tell me. i'm just curious. it's like where the phrase "break a leg" came from in theatre. you're going to hear that story now.

in shakespeare's time, back when he was performing, the only people who would really come to see them were groundlings. so they would be absolutely soot covered, disgusting, unbathed, etc. & they would drool on the stage. so as a little joke, the actors started saying, "break a leg" as a warning to not slip on the drool & ruin the performance. the end.

second.

i was in the shower. i usually wait a minute before i step under the shower nozzle while the water is heating up. you know. smart, i think. i use that time to brush my teeth, so i'm not really wasting any time. before getting into the shower, my hands were kind of cold. we, well.. ERIN leaves the window gaping open & we freeze. so my hands were cold. i should perhaps invest in some gloves. when i got in the shower & started washing my hair under the water, my hands were on FIRE. i mean, literally on FIRE. they were burning. ouch. it kind of hurt, but i didn't really stop it because i was somewhat mesmerized by the feeling. but then i turned around to get all soapy & stuck my hands under the water just as a rinsing technique. smart, eh? (oh, god, this is pathetic.) so i felt the water & the spray coming out of the middle part was rather cold. the other parts were really hot.
now here's the question: was it just my hands altering my perception of the temperature or was the water actually cold & hot in different places?

you've got to find.

your own way home.

a feeling lost inside.
