The Old Krackenberger Farm

We are still trying to find out more information about this old house and farm.   We are some what sure that this house was built around 1810 to 1812.   We are not sure who built this old original house but we do know that it is one of the first log cabins built in Jennings County.   It has undergone many changes through the years but the basic structure remains unchanged.   The view above is looking at the west side (front) and the north side of the house.

These next three pictures show the start of the dismantling of the old house.   We are hoping the new owner decides to preserve this house at a new location.   It would be a shame to lose all this history.   This is a view of the west side (front) and the north side of the house from across the road.
