Ever After

Me and my buddy, Micah (y'know..the one w/ the cartoon) went to see this movie. Micah says, "Drew was awesome... she's a hippie-chick!" Obviously, Micah's not quite as interested in Richard as I am! But I can assure you my attention was definatly in a place other than Drew! Richard, of course!

As usual, Richard was hot! (Except for the teeth! Yuck!!) His almost cameo appearance was not to miss! However, I do so hate it when he only gets about 5 minutes of screen time! He looks quite different in the movie because he's actually shown with facial hair (his little mustache and go tee...*hehehe*)which is rarely seen.(I only remember seeing on the VH1 special, but maybe there were other times.)And Richard wearing tights (not THAT unusual) and dressed up like Romeo just does something to my insides! I can't wait for it to come out on video! And in the aspect of his acting, I would say he's very convincing of the typical "baddie." But what would you expect? Of course I'm going to give him rave reviews!

And now for those people who missed the movie...But I have to tell you, I saw this movie about 6 months ago, so I don't think I'll be able to remember everthing about it. OK.

At the beginning of the movie, we see an old lady, a queen I think, who has called the Brothers' Grimm in to tell her story of Cinderella. Whereupon she produces the shoe and a DaVinci painting. She begins to tell her story, but I'll just summarize to cut to the good parts. Danielle is a little girl who's father dies briefly after bringing his new wife and two daughters into their household. Danielle is made to live with the three new members and is made into the servant. One day, in the orchard, she meets the prince on a horse and throws apples at him (she didn't know it was him)for trespassing. He gives her several gold coins to keep her mouth shut about seeing him. Then she takes the gold, dresses up, and heads into town to save a servant (her friend). The prince sees her and almost immediatly falls in love. The two meet quite frequently and Danielle has to dress up and pretend to be rich and important each time the two meet.

Then comes Richard. In the part of Pierre Le Pieu, he is out, yet again, to get the girl. He offers her his endowments and such, and yet, she refuses. A little discusion in the marketplace, and he is gone.

And then, of course, we have the element of the ball. This is slightly after the famous "punch scene." What happens is the two mean stepsisters say they want to wear Danielle's mother's wedding gown (that just happens to belong to Danielle)to the ball. They say Danielle should either give them the dress or they will burn her favourite book (that just happens to have been given to Danielle by her father). It turns out that They burn the book anyway, and Danielle punches the bitchy stepsister in the eye.

Now on to the subject of the ball. The stepmother and sisters lock Danielle in a room while they attempt to go to the ball and steal the prince's heart. But Da Vinci comes along and helps her out. They dress her in a hurry and she shows up just as the prince announces who he will marry. Then the stepmother rips off one of Danielle's wings (she's a butterfly) and tells everyone that she is a servant. Danielle runs away crying. Then we see that the prince wants to marry the Spanish princess instead. To keep Danielle quiet during all of this, they decide it would be best to sell her to Pierre in exchange for all the goods that have been missing or stolen throughout the movie. And so Pierre and his new purchase retreat to his little castle. There he brings Danielle into some sort of weapons room ( are we stupid?!?!) and talks with her. She then takes a sword and slashes his cheek! (The one on his face!...silly people!)Then, of course he lets her go offering her the key, "Your freedom my lady."

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but this is where my attention dropped. No more Richard, so why bother, eh? But for those of you who really care...I will try and remember the rest of the story.

Danielle escapes thinking it may be too late, but alas, the Spanish chic was a real whiner and so they never got around to getting married. Danielle has a little talk with the prince and they get married and live happily Ever After.
