Abbreviations for Cooking
I have inherited so many recipes from relatives and recipe
books from so many other places. The one thing among all of them that is
consistant is the inconsistancy in abbreviations used. I'll try to make them a
little clearer than mud here.
T or Tbsp = tablespoont or tsp = teaspoon
c or C = cup
oz = ounce
lb = pound
dz or doz = dozen
sq = square
pkg = package
btl = bottle
ctn = carton
sm = small
med = medium
lg = large
pt = pint
qt = quart
env = envelope
pkt = packet
bu = bushel
pk = peck
F = farenheit
deg = degrees
hr = hour(s)
min = minute(s)
