Beverage Recipes

Hot Buttered Rum
Ingredients:Directions:
4, 3-inch sticks of cinnamon
1 T and 1 t light-brown sugar
1/2 C dark rum
2 2/3 C apple cider
2 T real butter
1 t ground mace
4 slices lemon
Place one cinnamon stick in each of 4, warmed coffee mugs.
Then, add 2 1/2 t brown sugar and 1/8 C rum into each of the mugs.
In a saucepan, heat apple cider until very hot but not boiling.
Fill each mug with apple cider.
Add 1/2 T butter to each.
Sprinkle with mace and add a lemon slice.
Stir well with cinnamon stick and serve.

Mulled Wine
Ingredients:Directions:
1 bottle (1 1/2 liters)red table wine
3 c apple juice or cider
3, 3 inch cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
6 whole allspice cloves
Pour wine and apple juice or cider into ceramic or glass bowl
Tie cinnamon and spices into cheesecloth
Place tied spices in liquid
Cover and chill in refrigerator for 2-4 hrs
In a lg saucepan, over med heat, bring beverage mixture to a near boil,
simmer about 13-15 min
Remove from heat
Let stand for 10 min
Remove spice "bag"
and serve hot wine in mugs

Strawberry Lemonade Slush
Ingredients:Directions:
2, 12 oz cans frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1, pkg frozen strawberries, thawed and mashed, if desired
6 liters of chilled lemon-lime or strawberry soda
lemon slices and or strawberry slices
Combine strawberries and lemonade in a 1 1/2 frezer-proof container
Cover and freeze
Remove from freezer about 30 minutes before using
Stir about 3 T of slush into 8 oz of soda
Place a strawberry and/or lemon slice on the rim of the glass and serve

2, 3 oz pkgs orange or pineapple orange jello
1 qt vanilla Icecream
In a blender, combine 2 C icecream, 2 C milk and 1 pkg jello
