Bread Recipes

Spinach Quiche Muffins
Ingredients:Directions:
1 10 oz pkg frozen spinach, thawed and drained
1 med onion, diced
1/2 C diced cooked ham
1/2 C grated parmesian cheese
6 eggs
1/2 C vegetable oil
1 1/4 C flour
1 T baking powder
1 t dried oregano
1 t dried parsley
1/4 t garlic powder
1/4 t salt
1/4 t Thyme
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
Combine first 4 ingredients and set aside
Combine dry ingredients in another bowl and set aside
In a small bowl, beat eggs well
Mix in oil
Add to dry ingredients, stirring until moistened
Fold in remaining mixed ingredients
Fill greased or lined muffin tins 2/3 full
Bake for 18-22 min, until toothpick comes out clean
Cool 10 min before removing from pan

Angel Biscuits -Recipe of the Day
Ingredients:Directions:
5 cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup shortening
2 cups buttermilk warmed
1/4 cup warm water
2 pkgs. dry yeast
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Let stand 5 minutes stir in buttermilk, set aside.
In a large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Stir in yeast-buttermilk mixture
Mix well
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead lightly 3 - 4 times
Roll to a 1/2 " thickness cut with a 2 - 1/2 " biscuit cutter
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet, cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 - 1/2 hours
Lightly brush tops with melted butter
Bake at 450 degrees F for 8 - 10 minutes.
Makes about 2 and 1/2 dozen.

French Bread Recipe for Bread Makers-Kay of Recipe of the Day Webring

2 Tsp. yeast
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soft marg or butter
2 T. sugar
1 c. luke warm water.
Now every one has they own way of putting stuff in the machine.
I put yeast in first
then flour
then the rest with water being added last.
If you have a French Bread setting,
put it on that if not,
use white bread setting.

Classic Banana Bread -Crystal/Recipe of the Day
Ingredients:Directions:
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 medium, ripe bananas, mashed (about 3/4 cup)
1/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped almonds or walnuts, toasted
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in medium bowl; set aside.
Beat margarine and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg.
Beat in banana, sour cream and vanilla until blended.
Add in flour mixture, gradually.
Beat until just blended.
Stir in nuts.
Pour into 9 x 5-inch baking pan, sprayed with vegetable cooking spray.
Bake at 350° F, 65 to 70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.
