So, you have a casserole that you want to prepare and you don't have the exact pan that the recipe calls for. Here are a few possible alternatives.

For a 4-cup baking dish you can use:

a 9 inch pie plate

an 8 X 1 1/2 inch layer cake pan

a 7 3/8 X 3 5/8 X 2 1/4 inch loaf pan

For a 6-cup baking dish you can use:

an 8 1/2 X 3 5/8 X 2 5/8 inch loaf pan

a 10 inch pie plate

an 8 OR 9 X 1 1/2 inch layer cake pan

For an 8-cup baking dish you can use:

an 8 X 8 X 2 inch square cake pan

an 11 X 7 X 1 1/2 inch baking pan

a 9 X 5 X 3 inch loaf pan

For a 10-cup baking dish you can use:

a 9 X 9 X 2 inch square pan

a 11 3/4 X 7 1/2 X 1 3/4 inch baking pan

a 15 X 10 X 1 inch jelly roll pan

For a 12-cup or more baking dish you can use:

a 13 1/2 X 8 X 2 inch glass baking pan (12 C)

a 13 X 9 X 2 metal baking pan (15 C)

14 X 10 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch roasting pan (19 C)

an 8 1/2 X 2 1/4 inch Ring Mold holds 4 1/2 cups

a 9 1/4 X 2 3/4 inch Ring Mold holds 8 cups

a 6 X 4 1/4 inch Charlotte Mold holds 7 1/2 cups

a 7 X 5 1/2 X 4 inch Melon Mold holds 6 cups

a 9 X 3 1/2 inch fancy tube mold holds 12 cups

a 10 X 4 inch fancy tube mold (Kugelhupf) holds 16 cups

Spring-Form Pans:

an 8 X 3 inch pan holds 12 cups

a 9 X 3 inch pan holds 16 cups

Brioche Pan:

a 9 1/2 X 3 1/4 inch pan holds 8 cups

Tube Pans:
