"A DIFFERENT KIND OF GIRL"

Chapter 14

A WEEK LATER.......

"Hey, Pascal, play the violin for me!" Solange DeBauvier pleaded. Pascal had arrived just a few days ago. The family was delighted to have her for she shared their passion for music.

"Alright," Pascal gave in. She was still the magical person as before, but her eyes seemed to have lost a bit of that spark. Clearly, she was hurting.

"Pascal, I don't mean to bring up a sore subject," her cousin began, "but, are you going to see the boys again. It has to happen sometime."

"I love them all, but right now I just don't want to think about anything. I just want to adjust to this new life and get to know this town. You did say you would take me to the opera, correct?" Pascal tried to brighten herself up.

"Anything you want."

"Thanks, mon ami."

THE FATONE HOUSEHOLD

"Come on, we are all going to meet our new 'neighbor'!" Mrs. Fatone called.

"Hey, guys, I have to go take care of this. Why don't you all come with me. Maybe the girl is a fan and we can cheer her up from moving away from home." Joey proposed.

The guys all agreed and they along with Joey's family made their way to the DeBauvier household. "Maybe we should sing her a song or something," Chris joked.

They all knocked at the DeBauviers relatively large house. Simone had known they were coming but did not tell Pascal so that she would be surprised. This was a surefire way to cheer her up. Pascal had been adjusting well, but the pangs of losing someone still lingered.

Pascal's aunt, Jenelle, and uncle, Louis, answered the door. "Bonjour! Do come in!" they both exclaimed. The party was ushered into the living room. After everyone was seated, Jenelle spoke. "I do not know where the girls are. I thought they would have heard the doorbell ring." At that moment, Solange came into the room.

"Pascal is coming. She is just putting away her violin. That is why we did not hear you at first. That thing can get loud!"

The boys all exchanged shocked looks. Pascal? Here? Could it be? Justin's mouth went dry. "It has to be her. How many girls are French-Canadian, play the violin, and are named Pascal?" His stomach was in knots. They all anxiously awaited her descent.

"I believe you all know our Pascal, am I correct?" Solange asked teasingly.....
