"A DIFFERENT KIND OF GIRL"

Chapter 4

"Pascal, did you see the way Justin was looking at you? I hate you! He looked like he was absolutely in love with you. The look on his face when you approached was worth a million dollars. How do you do that to guys?"

"Ang`ele, you are exaggerating and furthermore...."

"Pascal, I do not even want to hear your explanations. You were even attracted to him and you know it! Admit it!"

" Never!" Pascal said in medieval fashion. Both began to die of laughter. If there was another thing Pascal had learned, it was that when people ask you uncomfortable personal questions, laughter will get you out of any tough situation.

Though neither Justin or Pascal realized it, someone was going to bring them back together again. That person was the boys' manager, Lou. He could not help but notice her confident, intellectual manner. He had gathered that she did interpretational work. Her English was impeccable, and she had a way with people that was not too common. What was he conjecturing? Well, being that the boys would be spending the entire month in a bilingual country, an interpreter would be a great help. He wanted someone closer to the boys' ages. He knew they grew tired of being around adults easily. He certainly did not want some chatterbox, obsessed teenager that would annoy the boys constantly. This girl was perfect. He had observed the fascination the boys had with her. Surely they would all get along well. What was her name? He had barely caught it. Oh, yes! Pascal D'Angelou. He had heard of the D'Angelou family during the boys' first tour in Canada. They were a very prestigious family. Blaise D'Angleou was an incredibly wealthy real estate "emperor". He would be sure to look up the family tomorrow being that the boys would have a few days off. Hopefully, the girl would want to do the job.

After the concert began, Justin searched for Pascal in the crowd. After two songs, he still could not spot her. Finally, right before he was to sing " I Drive Myself Crazy" he found her. Unlike the other girls who opted to scream, dance, and jump around, Pascal merely stood with her arms folded watching the show with a look of curiosity and interest. Clearly, she was not one to lose her head for boys. Instinctively, she could feel someone watching her. Ang`ele nudged her excitedly and exclaimed, "Justin is watching you. I'll bet he is going to sing to you and only you." Pascal took a deep breath. She did not like the idea of hundreds of girls giving her evil stares while someone sang to her. What to do?

Sure enough, Justin gazed in her direction and sang the entire verse to her. She tried to fight it, but Pascal could not help but smile and tingle with excitement. Never before had someone done such a thing for her. Justin was so relieved that she did not turn away. If this did not show her that he was already crazy about her, nothing would. If he was never going to see her again, he might as well give her something that she would never forget. Pascal melted inside. She was a romantic at heart, and this was like something out of one of her favorite Jane Austen novels. She had never felt so wonderful in her entire life. Throughout the entire show, Justin would sing to her at seperate intervals. Each time was more exciting than the one before it. Both felt disappointment when the show was over. Pascal and Ang`ele made their way to Pascal's car.
