Chapter 8

We ran through the dance one more time. Although, this time they sang for real.By the tme we were done, it was around 5. We got ready, and took off. The limo brought us up to a nice size farm. There at the end of the driveway was a tall man standing. "Well, hello there." he said shaking hands with Lance. "Hello Ron. How's everything going?" Lance asked. "Everything's fine. So you've got a concert in town?" "Yup." Lance answered "Well, who are these fine young ladies?" Ron asked."This is Holly, and that's Melissa." Lance said pointing to us. "How-Do-You-Do?" Ron asked. "Hey there Ron. How's it going?" Joey said climbing out of the limo. "Well, Hello there Joe. You've gotten taller, haven't you?" Ron asked. "Nah, you've gotten shorter in your old age." Joey said picking on him. "So, do you wanna go riding?" Ron asked. "If you wouldn't mind." Lance said.

He led us around to the barn. He had already gotten out some horses and had them saddled up.Everybody had already had their own horses. Holly and I got stuck with two young ones."Do you two know how to ride?" Ron asked us. "A little bit." Holly answered. "We'll be here for help." JC said riding up aside of me. "Alright, your all set." Ron said and then he smacked the butt of Justin's horse and we were off. "This is great!" I tried to say.

We rode out in a pasture and then we went up on a trail. "Is everyone OK back there?" Lance asked to us from up ahead."Yup, we're fine." I yelled back. "OK We're going to get going then!" Lance yelled back and then he whistled and all of the horses took off. Holly and I were riding side by side one minute , the next she was gone. The road hed split. OH-GOD! I thought to myself. I pulled back on the reins and tried to slow down my horse. No luck. I yanked on them and he stopped and turned around in circles."Whoa." I said. "Great, now where am I?" I looked in both directions and everything looked the same. I got my directions messed up when the horse spun around. "HOLLY!" I yelled, but no response. I got the horse to walk and started off in one direction, thinking maybe I'd be going in the right direction. I stayed on the small path hoping to run into them. "HELLO!!CAN ANYONE HEAR ME!" I yelled. No Response. 'I'm going to look so stupid' I thought to myself. 'I can just see the next headlines, 'N SYNC dancer lost in woods.' I was interrupted by a noise off the right of me. I looked over to see nothing there. "Hello?" I asked "Is anyone there?" Then I heard a noise over to my left. I looked to find nothing there either. "Hello?!" I asked, "Holly,.....Justin,.....Lance,.....anybody?!" "Jeez,now now I'm 'anybody'!" Chris said stepping out from behind a tree."You Guys!" I yelled climbing off my horse. "What happened? Got lost?" Holly said stepping out from behind me. "Nah, I just wanted to take a different trail." I said. "Yeah, that's it!" Holly said with a laugh. "Did you find her?" Justin yelled. "Yeah,we're over here!" Chris yelled back. soon we were joined by Justin and Joey. "Did ya have a nice ride?" Justin asked with a smile. "Yeah, it was fun. I said feeling embarrassed.

We walked through the woods and came to a clearing. There was a small pond where we let the horses stop and get some water, and huge peices of boulders everywhere. We all just walked around. Lance and Holly had walked off by themselves. I was stuck there with the others. We were all just sitting on this huge rock, when chris' cell phone rang. "Hello?" Chris said answering. "Oh Hi. How's everything going?.......Yeah, she's here......sure,hold on..." Chris said handing me the phone. "Hello?" I asked. "Hey Mel. Whatcha up to?" Jenn asked me. "Oh,nothing. You?" I asked her. "Nothing. Hey what's going on with Holly and Lance?" Jenn asked me. "I don't know!" "Well,I just called to see what was going on. Tell Holly I called, and have her call me later." Jenn said "Ok.Bu-bye." I said handing the phone to Chris. He took it and walked away from us talking to Jenn. "I wonder where Lance and Holly are?" JC asked looking around. "I'll go find them. Melissa wanna come with me?" Justin asked offering me his hand. "Sure." I said taking it while he helped me up. We walked in the direction that Lance and Holly went in, then we saw them sitting on a big rock about 50 feet away. "Awwe, I think Lance has found his innocent princess that he's been yearning for." Justin said looking over at them. There they were, Lance laying down in Holly's lap. "Wanna sit down?" Justin asked. "Yeah." I said sitting on the rocky ground below us.

"So, what do you like to do? Like when your at home, what kind of fun do you have?" Justin asked me."Well, of coarse I'm over at Holly's alot.It's basically my second home. We go swimming, play volleyball, go for bike rides, the usual stuff. But when I'm at home, I jump on my trampoline, play basketball downtown, go for bike rides, I don't know, I just like to hang out and have fun with my freinds." I answered. "Yeah, that's the thing I miss the most." Justin said. "What's that?" I asked. "Hanging out with mt old freinds." Justin answered. "Oh I bet. I know I'd miss that too." I said. "But, it's a blast doing this also." Justin remarked. "I know I'm having fun. And I've only been doing this for four days." I replied. "I hope Jenn's ankle heals alright." Justin said. "Yeah, I think she'll be fine." I reminded him. "So,....did you have a boyfreind back home?" Justin asked me. "Nope. Don't need one when you have freinds."I answered him. "Oh,......looks like our lovebirds are coming." Justin said nodding to Holly and Lance walking towards us. "Hey there. Have a nice walk?" I asked. "Yeah, the scenery is just beautiful!" Lance said. "Oh, look at that sunset!" Holly said pounting to the sky. "That's so beautiful!" I exclaimed. "Isn't it?" Justin said. We sat there and watched the rest of the sunset, then we headed back over to the rest of the group."We found them!"Justin said as we approached the group. "More like we found you two."Lance said still blushing. "Let's gather up the horses.... hey where's Chris?" Justin asked looking around."The last time I saw him was when he left talking with Jenn." JC said. We gathered up the horses and went to go find Chris. We didn't have to go to far, And he was still on the phone. "Yo Chris. Is that still Jenn?" Justin hollered to him. "Yeah, hold on." Chris yelled back. Then he started walking over to us and handed the phone to Holly. "Boy, is her phone bill going to be high." JC commented."No, I called her back." Chris said. "Ok, man is your phone bill gonna be high!" JC said with a laugh. "Here." Holly said handing the phone back to Chris. "Ok....I will.......Bye." Chris said getting off the phone with Jenn.

We rode back,Holly was up in the front with Lance." We went slow for most of the ride home, that was until we had sight of the farm. Then we raced to it. I came in dead last, but I wasn't far behind Joey. The stablemen took the horses from us and we headed up to the main house. We said our good-byes to Jon and left for the Hotel.
