"I Will Still Love You"

Chapter 7

Flashback - February/95

Ten days had passed. Ten miserable days. The last time he had seen her face or talked to her was on the night of his 14th birthday. The night when they had that argument. That stupid argument. He couldn't spend one more day knowing that she hated him. He had to apologize. He figured the best way would be to send a letter through her little sister. At least he knew that Joanna wouldn't yell at her. She could accept the letter and read it or just torn it into pieces. But he had to try. What else he had to loose?

He spent hours thinking about what to write. Finally, he was satisfied with the outcome. But it was more than a letter. It was a confession. A confession of his feelings for her. Feelings that he didn't know if she had in return. Enclosed, he put three other pieces of paper. They were lyrics. Songs that he had written for her. She was his inspiration. His muse. He sealed the letter with a kiss and gave it to Beatriz.

"Bia, could you give this to your sister when you get home?" Justin asked

"Uh-hum." was her response "Ok, thanks. What time is your mom picking you up?"

"Tonight she's gonna leave work early to pick me up at seven." the little girl answered "

Oh, I see. But why isn't Joanna picking you up?" he asked once again

"She's sick." "Ah... I didn't know that." he said

"There's mom." Bia said, pointing to the door

"I'll see you tomorrow then." he gave her a kiss on the forehead and went to his room

At Joanna's house...

"Jooooooo!" Bia screamed while running up the stairs

"Hey, baby girl. What's up?" the older girl said

"I'm not a babyyy!" Bia protested "I know, I know..." Joanna said

"Justin asked me to give you this." "He did, huh?" "Yup." Bia responded

"Thanks." Joanna said, getting the envelope

"Dinner's ready!" their mom yelled from downstairs

"Bia, tell mom that I'm not hungry, so I'm gonna skip dinner, ok?" Joannasaid

"Ok, Nana." she responded and went downstairs.

Joanna got up from the couch and went to her room. She laid down and looked at the envelope. After a few minutes of staring, she decided to open it. It wouldn't cause any more harm. It couldn't. She just wanted to know what was inside. So, she opened it. There were four pieces of paper. One was a letter and the other three were lyrics. Lyrics that she didn't recognize. She started reading the letter and tears formed in her eyes. At the bottom of the letter there was a note:

"P.S: I only wrote five songs in my life until now, and three of them were about you. I hope you like them. Always yours, Justin Timberlake."

After she was done, she read the lyrics. Beautiful lyrics. The songs' names were "Some Dreams," "For the Girl who has Everything" and "Best of my Life."

First, she read "Some Dreams": "She stood out just like a diamond babe Amongst the tourists in a crowded room I took a walk along the sandy beaches Under the silver caribbean moon That's when she She promised that and I promised this And til this day I can still picture it She took my hand and I took her kiss So temporary those moments of bliss Some dreams just fade away Like yesterday's sunset Some dreams are made to stay She's one dream I'll never forget Everyday just seemed to go too quickly And every night just passed us in a blur I never noticed the blue skies and water Because I only had eyes for her And so when she She promised that and I promised this And til this day I can still picture it She took my hand and I took her kiss So temporary those moments of bliss Some dreams just fade away Like yesterday's sunset Some dreams are made to stay She's one dream I'll never forget Go back Those crazy summer days Stroll back I'll find you through the haze Some dreams just fade away Like yesterday's sunset Some dreams are made to stay She's one dream I'll never forget..."

By the time she was finished, tears were rolling down her cheeks. But now they were tears of joy. A feeling so overwhelming that all she could do was cry. Then, she read "For the Girl who has Everything" and following, "Best of my Life." She was so moved by his words. They had been so blind. All this time they were still in love with each other, but both were afraid to admit. Both were too stubborn. She had to call him. She had to let him know that those feelings were mutual. But it was too late, almost 11 o'clock. So, she decided to talk to him the next day. Definitely. Then, she went to sleep. A peaceful sleep for the first time in weeks.
