Last week I was pretty upset and ready to settle in with my memories of last season. Now I am in love - and no it had nothing to do with Faith even though she isn't that bad on the eyes 0:-)
This week's monsters looked so much better and there was actual character developmeant. We knew why the bad guys were there even though for a second I thought Willow had somehow conjured them up. That huge old vamp guy looked like he was done up in makeup from last week and the cloven feet had me thrown for a while. I really thought this was going to turn into something cheesy. The vamps who almost got Buffy & Faith looked pretty spanish although their little kakistos *sp* declaration sounded english. 0:-)
But anyway I'm really glad to see someone of color on the show - even if he is a bad guy and a stereotype. Was I the only one reminded of Eddie Murphy in Vampire Brooklyn? Mr. Trick has some character - he has his own opinions and that disregard for human life that is just soooo sexy in Spike but only endearing in him. I really dug that whole "forget the boss" scene though - do you think that white girl with him is his girl or something? She kinda looked like a vamped out Buffy...
Or maybe she is Faith's old watcher? She never did say what happened to the woman...
Okay - Faith. She was the shinning star this ep eh? I mean she is no Kendra - who could ever replace "I am Kendra, the Vampire Slayer?" I don't care how many times you head butt undead people 0:-) no one will ever replace that watchy chick with the awesome accent.
Faith is a lot prettier than the other two slayers though - I mean if she carries everything in her bag and doesn't even have enough money to pay for her cheap hotel room, when does she have the money and time to get her hair curled? But I guess if Buffy can wake up with perfect hair time and again so can she 0:-) Maybe its a slayers thing
Speaking of things for a slayer - did you see the major attention Xander was paying to Faith? I mean sure he's a guy and all but hasn't he progressed past the whole drooling over pics of the new naked slayer in front of his girlfriend bit? I mean I'm not a huge Xander fan - he's cute but that's about it. The guy is funny but I think some of Cordelia's shallowness slipped in his ear while they were making out.
This is going to sound pretty bad since I think Faith is an ok kind of chick and although not my favorite Slayer 0:-) but I can't wait for her to die. She arouses all of these angry feelings in me for some reason. I mean I didn't dislike Kendra immediately although Buffy did. I didn't even dislike the Anointed One. Ampatta was ok - in fact I can't think of someone other than the Judge that i disliked so quickly.
Perhaps it was the false bravado, perhaps it was the whole sense of this chick's self esteem and desire for attention that got me but *shudder* Maybe she's just too good looking to be a Slayer...and the way she flirted with Giles!!!
Giles is supposed to be the unappreciated hottie - the one I admire with Liz but who almost everyone else ignores - I don't want all of these people running around realising how gorgeous he is and drinking Taster's Choice 0:-) I felt so badly for Giles and his never being invited to hang with other Watchers though -he is so cool and clucky 0:-)
What else? Hmmm....
OF COURSE ANGEL!!! *lol* could you believe i almost forgot that? Just when we got used to the whole dream guy thing he drops naked out of the sky and hovers over the ground 0:-) My roomy is cool and according to her dead vampires can be brought back through an object which they attach alot of significance to. I guess the claddaugh counts eh?
I couldn't believe Scott tried to give Buffy one - even worse I couldn't believe she was ready to date again...its only been four months - this was not a normal relationship...grieve!!!
