One of the World's Best All Around Athelets
My tribute page to
Kevin "$leepy G" Hurley
$leepy is one of the greatest all around people I have ever met in my life. Quick to grab you a beer,
not afraid to take the hit to get the pass off, or drive down the lane and
take the hard foul, $leepy is someone who ever meets him will never forget.
In my first year at the University of Pittsburgh I was lucky enough to block for him, actually beat
him at a game of one on one basketball, and have him help me in my first
semester Calculus class (that's right, the one I had to take over!!!). $leepy could out drink
the entire Gamma Epsilon chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha combined his first semester,
a pretty impressive accomplishment for a freshman. Brought to Pittsburgh from the sporting capital of the
world, Allentown, his athletic talents shone in whatever sport he tried to play,
whether it be volleyball, tennis, basketball, football, or even the 5K run. Also
known for his role in the Office Max commercial for pushing the button with his
index finger, you can be sure that $leepy will one day be a very successful man.
In meeting someone as special as $leepy, you learn that with just a little hard
work and determination, you can accomplish anything you want to. He was able to
pick apart defenses while quarterbacking us to the school Fraternity Football
League semifinals, pretty impresive considering we had an 8 man roster and were
playing against teams with 75. I can honestly say that without him, I would
not have been able to win the Phi Kapps game with the amazing field goal of
over 35 yards (not to mention into the wind). It may have been my idea for
the hard snap count to draw them offsides to get us into my range, but he was able to
make it all come true. And when it came down to basketball season he was a
fearless point guard often being covered by opposing players who were 6'5, but he was
always able to get the ball to either Bacco or Luba who would throw up bricks
from all over the place. Advice to anyone who ever tries to beat him, make
$leepy shoot foul shots (ha ha ha), then you will see the one true weakness this
man posesses. To sum up what I feel about $leepness, he is a fearless leader,
a great competitor, and can drink a hell of a lot of alcohol.
$leepy would like to thank all of those people who helped mold him into what he is today.
First of all he would like to thank God for giving him such a wonderful family,
and excusing me and him from a couple of masses here and there. His parents who
raised him and his brother who would always try to actually beat him in sports.
His true friends out here at college (or at least who were here for a while, Midge
you moron all you had to do was go to class and not throw shit at the garbage man)
for electing him as their President and following his commands while playing
sports. An extra special thanks to Micheal Tilstra (that's me) for writing this
touching article and posting it on his page, not to mentino being the best damn
center and non Mexican kicker a football team could ever have. The Legend for
all his Chem advice and crazy ideas to try in "The year of the Dragon," and
digital boy Bill who we all hope is alive this time next year. All his friends
back at home, Kaplan for throwing all those parties, Fonzone for always having tons of shit for them to do, everyone in YB--Sajeev,
Dave, and everyone else; Kipa for his crazy parties and those fun trips to school,
and that one tart from GT--Mathias for a few good parties here and there and
everything else. There are a ton of other people, but I don't have the room
to mention them all here, but you all know who you are. And no one from the 6th
floor of tower C can ever forget the FLIP MO SQUAD!!!!!!!
