QM are a writing and performing duo from the West Midlands whose collaboration over the last two years has seen them produce well in excess of a full set of songs, a well crafted and critically acclaimed demonstration tape and a popularity that has been rewarded with live performances supporting the likes of Ruby Turner.

QM are singer Andrew Quinton, and bassist Andrei Maslanyj. The twosome came together on a local musical project, during which it became apparent that they shared a common musical taste and an aptitude for writing together. When the project was complete QM was born. The band are fortunate enough to have their own small eight track studio, where the constant writing and recording takes place. All of the material on the accompanying demonstration cassette was written , arranged and programmed solely by themselves as they are both proficient guitarists and keyboard players. Session instrumentalists are drafted in when required. For live work the recruitment of a pianist, drummer, saxophonist and backing singers are necessary, although QM have a dedicated musical crew who enjoy performing to such high standards and such enthusiastic audiences. QM have recently completed rehearsals for an unplugged show which will see them perform nationwide during the Summer.

The talent for writing commercial pop songs is apparent, but QM are fully aware that it takes much more to become successful however, their talent is matched by their hunger to succeed and the constant desire to write and perform their music. QM have worked hard over the last two years to produce material that is strong both musically and melodically but can remain contemporary to audiences of all ages. With QM’s direction now firmly focused they believe that the time is now right for their assault on management and publishing companies.

Andrew and Andrei maintain that their success lies within their ability as songwriters writers and their energy in promoting the material. Coupled with their dedication and desire to succeed, QM believe that rewards for their work are now well within reach.
