DragonBall Z: Budokai
I thought before I went outto pick up Budokai 2, it might be good to let everyone know about the original Budokai. First off if you haven't guessed it this is for DBZ fans only, they do have a great story mode which explains everything up to the end of the Cell saga, but if you've tried to watch the show before and didn't like it this isn't going to change your mind. The graphics are awesome and the voice actors from the show are in there doing the voices. So overall it starting to look good, but I have to say that compared to other fighting games like Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur the characters do move much slower and the engine is as strong in this game as it is in the other 3D fighters. Truthfully this game felt like a 2D fighter like Street Fighter or Guilty Gear but brought into a 3D world. As I mentioned before there is a story mode so it's not just fight this guy and then the next guy you go through the story of dbz, but that can only last so long as enjoyment. Like every fighting game it's meant to be played with someone else the story mode is really only to unlock the other fighters, so if you don't have any friends you might only get about a weeks play out of this.
Being a DragonBall Z fan is probably giving this game more points then it should, but it gets a 4 out of 5.
