FROM EARTH TO HEAVEN ON WINGS OF LOVE

MY COMMENTS: A sad time has befallen my family. Ruth Lauzon, one of my cousins has passed away this afternoon, and her husband Phil who sat by her bedside through her long vigil has suffered a heart attack and he is in the same intensive care unit where his wife died. The death of a loved one is hard on everyone. She brought children into the world, worked hard along with her husband to give them a good upbringing and now she's passed on.
I cried when I heard the news. I'll always remember her most vividly as a young, blond girl running and playing with me along a railroad track that ran behind her house. I'll remember her laughing, so full of life, taking the time to help her mother, my aunt Rita with her three brothers and two sisters. She was a good woman. She loved, lived and shared with everyone that was in need as best as she could. She was a good wife and mother. She believed in a kind and loving God and I know with a certainty she's with Him.
A wise man named George Springs Mirriam once said, "No one who is fit to live need fear to die.
Poor, timorous, faithless souls that we are! How we shall smile at our vain alarms, when the worst has happened! To us here, death is the most terrible word we know. But when we have tasted its reality, it will mean to us birth, deliverance, a new creation of ourselves. It will be what health is to the sick man. It will be what home is to the exile. It will be what the loved one given back is to the bereaved. As we draw near to it, a great solemn gladness should fill our hearts.
It is God's great morning lighting up the sky."
Let us pray for the Lauzon family and all the other families that have lost a loved one. Let us reassure them that death is not an end, it is the beginning of the greatest adventure that we will ever experience. It is our time to return to God and be a part of His great universal plan. Amen.

My comments: Let us join Larry in a prayer for his friend Don in his hour of need. Many people who see strange behaviour, just see this behaviour and don't consider the problems that sometime brings it on. Let us try to accept people as they are and be more understanding of their problems. Let us pray that Don feels our love and is touched in a wondrous way by the hundreds of prayers that are being said for him today.
I would like to pray for a friend of mine, Don, who had a difficult beginning in life but tries to overcome it. He is saddled with a physical problem which manifests itself in odd behavior. I pray that he will complete his journey and come home safely, that he will find his truth, and that he will be loved.

My Comments: The prayer below is the prayer on the lips of many people in this in this age of technological change, where technology, supposedly freeing man from toil has actually become a curse to many. It certainly did give man free time, but it also eliminated thousands upon thousands of much needed jobs. We are on the edge of great change in this crazy mixed up world. Let us pray for these two people and everyone who is in the same situation. Please God give us all, the opportunity to work, learn, and earn enough to supply all the needs of ourselves and our families. Let all the employers, making record profits realize that it is their employees who made it possible. Don't reward them with layoffs and cutbacks in salary. Now lets pray for Mellisa and Sharon. Let's pray so loud that God can't help but hear. We ask it through your Son, Jesus Christ.
I am requesting prayer for myself and my sister (I have her permission to include her in my requests for help) . We have both been unemployed for a couple of months - we were working for the same company, which is downsizing. This situation has been devastating emotionally as well as financially. We have been praying on the situation, and trying to think positively (and I have been sending Reiki), but we need help. I believe your prayers added to ours would give them a great "boost". Could you please pray that we get out of this situation, hopefully by finding work that is rewarding emotionally/spiritually as well as financially, and that we have the patience, strength and confidence in self and Spirit to get through until that comes about. Thank you and may God bless you for your kindness. Melissa (on behalf of myself and my sister Sharon)

Two months ago, the Universal Life Church of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, opened it's doors. The Heaven Now Mission has become the working arm of this new church. It was the proudest moment of my life when I was voted to be the Pastor of the Congregation.
We are located in the Nations Capital in a poor to medium income neighborhood. Some of the poor in our area are in dire need of the help. Since opening our doors on October the 18th, we have joined forces with a Mission which has been established a little over 1 year ago, ( The Open Arms Mission - Ministries ) run by Pastor Bob Smith. In cooperation with this other mission we have had 2 food and clothing drives and plan another just before Christmas.
In a couple of months when our tax exempt number arrives we will be able to open the doors to our own Heaven Now Mission House where we will feed the hungry, clothe the needy, give counsel to the troubled and really try to make this little piece of earth surrounding us a little closer to Heaven Now.
I truly thank God for Pastor Bob Smith and others like him, who realize that God is Love, Loving is Giving: Who know we must all show Love to others and Share Ourselves. Below is the prayer of our Heaven Now Mission written by the Board of Directors of our Universal Life Church.

Prayers Answered
John Mazurek of Ottawa, Ontario - Infection in his foot has healed. Praise God
Florient Loyer of Kemptville, Ontario - in much better health but has been told by his doctor to take it a little easier. Praise Jesus.
Walter's son is now undergoing treatment for substance abuse and is taking his studies in school more seriously now. Walter's new business is progressing, a little slower than he'd hoped and things between his wife are still a little touchy, but are better. Walter still needs our prayers but God is now back in his life. I know this will make a big difference. Praise Jesus.

Alex is a 13 year old honor student with a 4.0 average in the 7th grade at Morganfield Middle School. He has been recognized by the National Honor Society and he loves playing baseball and basketball. He also collects baseball and basketball cards. Alex has been fighting a battle with Staphylococcus Aureas. He has been hospitalized and operated on 9 times in the last 4 months. He was first operated on at Henderson Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson Ky and then sent to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville Ky. His doctors in Louisville are Drs. Rabila and Gabriel. He has been taking iv's 3 times a day since the onset. The bacteria has manifested itself in his hip joint and done major damage to the ball of the femur and significant damage to his pelvic bone. He has taken a variety of antibiotics including penicillin, nafcillin, cefazolin, vancomycin, ampicillin, ciprofloxacin, all in various combinations, and now is on clindamycin. The operations were to drain the infection and to remove the dead tissue. Hopefully, this antibiotic will work and the damaged bone will gradually fuse itself. A lot of the cartillage on the femur was destroyed by the bacteria and there is a chance that the surgeons will be able to spread it out so that he can use his leg again. The only other option that is open, is to remove the ball of the femur and do a total hip replacement. We are looking for any new developments that have have come about for fighting this bacteria. I am also asking for any type help that I can find in helping pay some of the mounting medical bills. I have insurance, but there is quite a bit that my insurance company isn't going to pay. I have worked all my life, starting at the age of 12, washing cars in a service station, and am now a butcher a Save-A-Lot 153 in Providence Ky. I don't make a lot of money and right now, the medical debts that insurance hasn't paid is in the neighborhood of $10,000.00. The totals that I've seen so far are in the neighborhood of $264,000.00 that the insurance company is paying on. This is the only way I know how to ask for help and I'm not real good at asking for help, but now I need it and so does Alex. I have to pay these bills to keep from getting garnished and losing my job and my insurance. If you can't help monetarilly, please say a prayer for Alex, and if you know of any new ways being developed in combatting this bacteria, please email me at rodney@wko.com Please send all contributions to: Rodney Brown PO Box 53 Mortons Gap, Ky 42440-0053

Dear Reverend Dave please help me. I've been away from God for a long time. So much has happened in my life lately and I don't know what I should do. A lost job, a wife who no longer cares what the hell happens to me and a child that's decided that drugs are more important to him than going to college. He's an addict. He says he isn't but he is. I pay about 30,000 dollars a year, sending him to the best school in the country and he's dropping out. He's throwing his future out the window. I've got the education and the experience and have made some investments and hope that with all these things I can get a business of my own going. I remember when I was younger I had some religious beliefs and used to pray. I've been doing a lot of soul serching lately and have started to pray again. Last night I got down on my knees and talked to Jesus and felt a warmth spread through me and started to cry. I know that He's the only one that can get my life in order and wonder if you could post this prayer on your page so that others can pray with me. Thank you in advance for posting this prayer on your site. Your brother in Christ, Walter.

I ask you all to say a prayer for me and the other people in my congregation who are now registering our Church "UNIVERSAL LIFE CHURCH", of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. From this church we will carry on the Heaven Now Mission, always striving to help others in their time of need.
We will strive to bring all of mankind towards a better understanding of the Universal Concept and teach that all good works and actions lead toward the betterment of all humankind. I will always preach that God is in each one of us and realizing this and putting it into practice, can bring this world, a little closer to Heaven Now.

Through her, may God give us all the inspiration to do good for people, forgetting our petty problems that we sometime blow out of preportion.

I have recieved several letters in the past couple of weeks, which should be put on this page. I will however, not put a persons letter on this page, if that person doesn't particutlarly specify, that his or her cry for help, should be included on the Prayer Page.
To have your prayer posted, mark Post Prayer at the top of the email, and I will handle it accordingly. Thank You and God Bless.
July 7, 1997 - From a woman who wants us to pray with her.
Dear Lord, my husband is seeing someone else and I'm having a hard time coping. All my friends seem to know about it and I feel ashamed. I know that I didn't do anything to bring this about. He dosen't pay any attention to me anymore. Lord, You know I have two kids and it's not easy to look bright and cheerfull all the time. I don't know what I can do. I tried to spruce myself up for my husband when he comes home and he dosen't even notice. Dear God let my husband notice that I need him. Let him pay more attention to the kids. Let us be a family together again. I ask it in Jesus's name. Amen
