Flatwork

When I'm not painting horses, I do enjoy drawing and painting of the 2D kind. I took two semesters of drawing and a year of Advanced Placement Studio Art in high school where I improved much of my work. I also took a photography class during my senior year and plan to do more in college.

Untitled Still Life

Pencil on paper, 2001. Still life of a book, a bracelet, a stick, a stone egg, a morocca, and a candle.

Calgary Unbridled

Pencil on paper, 2001. Done from a picture in National Geographic of the city of Calgary, Alberta with some horses running in front. It was never really finished as I needed one more drawing for my sketchbook last semester and I just ran out of time to get all the detail on it I needed.

Young Wolves

Pencil on paper, 2001.

Untitled Still Life

Pastel on pape, 2001. Still life done in class.

Prototype For India Ink Drawing

Pencil on paper, 2001. Prototype for a later drawing done in class in ink.

Fantasy

India Ink on paper, 2001. I wasn't extremely pleased with this drawing because of the difficulty I had getting any sort of detail or shading on the horse but everyone else but me seemed to like it.

Study of a Stick

Pencil on paper, 2001. The basic gist of this assignment was to study a simple subject in depth and capture every detail.
