Yogurt actually helps!

Here is an article for yogurt.org that I found about live and active yogurt cultures in how they help you...

Besides tasting good, yogurt offers several nutritional benefits: It is nutrient-dense, that is, it provides lots of protein, vitamins, and minerals for relatively few calories. Yogurt is an excellent source of protein, calcium, & riboflavin. Compared to milk, it often contains more protein and calcium since nonfat dry milk is usually added to milk in the production of yogurt, thus boosting their contents. Yogurt comes in regular (whole milk), lowfat, & skim varieties (as well as in plain or flavored varieties). So, it can fit into anyone's eating patterns. Lowfat or nonfat varieties are especially suited for those individuals who are watching their weight or are following cholesterol-lowering diets. For those individuals who cannot drink milk without experiencing abdominal cramps, bloating, or gas, consuming yogurt can decrease lactose intolerance, and can be a pleasant way to ensure adequate calcium intake. (See section on health benefits.) Did you know that up to 60% of a healthy adult's weight is made up of water? About 2.5 quarts (2.4 liters) of fluids are ingested and excreted everyday! But, people often don't think of drinking water during the day. Yogurt contains 88% water, and is therefore a great source of water as well as nutrients! Yogurt also offers several health advantages as well. Click onto our section on health benefits for more information.

Some people think that because yogurt is more acidic than milk, it may actually cause osteoporosis. This is completely false! Not only is yogurt not decalcifying, but the lactose in yogurt even helps to improve calcium absorption. And because it is such an excellent source of calcium, people at risk for osteoporosis would do well to eat at least one yogurt per day!
